MINNEAPOLIS ---- The Chargers can't deny it: The shocking death of San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Thomas Herrion is on their minds as they get ready to face the Vikings in the next-to-last exhibition game for both squads.

Tonight's game is meaningless, although it has more meaning since Herrion's death just minutes after the 49ers lost to the Broncos on Saturday.

"It hits you, and you think about it,'' Chargers defensive tackle Jacques Cesaire said. "I was thinking about his mother and I can imagine how she feels. My mother, she always worries about me, and that makes me laugh. I'm like, 'What do you have to worry about?' But when you think about it, anything can happen."</blockquote>
