Another former Dolphin. That could be good.

Since AJ couldn't get a tackle he liked in the draft, he stockpiled the RB and secondary, much like he did the WR position a year ago. This will reduce the need of depth for the position in future years. For now, OT depth is needed... and Shelton will fill that void until we groom a younger talent.

Dude brings veteran experience starting all 16 games for the floundering Dolphins last year. Just not sure if that's really significant or not being on a 1-15 team. Like Grid said, can't hurt. Could get new life on a winning, potential SB team.

Found this on Wikipedia on Shelton back in 2005:

I just saw this at Chargers.com. Nice move. This could be some veteran depth we've been needing. I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up another OT before training camp.

Leisure, what's the 411 on your boy Corey Clark? Is he the real deal or project? I don't know much about him. You think he can outplay the vet Shelton?

Hopefully one of the kids in camp beats him out, but if not, he is a fine insurance policy.

CAn't complain about getting shelton. And we got him now and will have all offseason to get him in shape and teach him how our offense works. If he doesn't seem to be catching on or is not working hard enough they'll have enough time to dump him and find someone else. HOpefull shelton will come in work hard and all will work out.

He is? I love this signing. Who wanted the BEEF jihad? the homie is 6'6'', 345 lbs. HUGE. like another Marcus McNiel, with less talent i guess. At least he's good depth, but I'd take a LT McNiel, LG Dielman, C Hardwick, RG Clary, RT Shelton line anyday. HUUUGE bookends with 3 mean, nasty whiteboys in the interior.

Good depth behind Clary and McNeill, which is all that we needed.

This is a great depth signing... If he nuts up and wins a job, then more power to him....

The kid is a NFL carrer starter... That can't be bad.

Good job AJ... Make the deal... We'll never know if he works or not unless we take a stance. Screw the naysayers...

If the young beef is better than this dude, then they'll make the cut, if not it's not bad to have him as insurance depth. Clark can probably survive on the PS for a season.

I rather thought something like this was in the works. This gentleman appears to be marginally acceptable depth.
