The Chargers are dealing with four suitors for backup running back Michael Turner, sources said, and Turner's agent has spoken with at least one of those teams in hopes of getting a long-term deal done.

Buffalo, Dallas, Tennessee and the New York Jets have shown interest in acquiring the restricted free agent. All appear willing to part at least with a first-round draft pick, but sources indicated the Chargers are still seeking two picks – in the first and third rounds.

So where are all those "realists" that said Turner is not worth a first?

Thats why you draft a WR so if anything happens, atleast we have some sort of air game.

And if he doesn’t do it, then next year you would be all over him for not trading him when he had value, and just letting him walk with no compensation.

well duh, anyone that thought we'd get a 1st and 3rd this year was being extremely optimistic. I mean beyond being a homer. I mean it doesn't take a genius to say that. If we do get a 1 and 3 then AJ should be immediately put into the Chargers hall of fame.

LT has missed 1 game in 6 years. He's taken less of a beating over the last 3 yeas then he did through the first 3. Of course anything can happen, but hey thats football, you cant be scared to get hurt.

Turner is extremely valuable right now, and if we can get a mid to high first rounder for him and fill our SS hole and our WR hole with first round picks we'll be solid contenders for years to come.

Are you serious with this comment? Do you really think we could ever sign a guy like that long term? He'd want about 5mil per year minimum and more then just 80 carries.

I would love to keep him also, but he is going to walk, he is going to walk when his free agent status allows him to do so. He wants to start, and he will want to be the premiere back, and with LT here, that is not going to happen.

I like the fact that two of the teams interested have coaches that know MT first hand. (Jets and Cowboys) That should send a clear signal to the other teams that MT is legit, which should only help increase his value.

I was hoping to use MT to move up in the first but if we can get another mid First without giving up ours then our dynasty should be set.

I would sign him in a hearbeat. LT needs to run some routes and catch the ball ala faulk.

Wouldn't have anything to do with it almost always going for like a 50-70 yard TD, would it?

If we wind up with two 1st, what about Brian Leonard with our 2nd rounder? He's big, can catch and could play FB in a pinch.

I'd LOVE to see Brian Leonard in a Chargers uni. He is perfect for this team. Juts a no nonsense, hard headed, hard working dude.
