SAN DIEGO ---- The Chargers were the toast of football on Sunday after knocking off the previously undefeated Indianapolis Colts. The victory even earned coach Marty Schottenheimer a congratulatory phone call from Don Shula, coach of the undefeated 1972 Dolphins, whose place in history is secure for at least another year.

A day later, with the euphoria mostly worn off, the focus around Chargers Park was on where the victory had left the Chargers ---- exactly where they were before.

"It was like, 'Yeah great win, but we're still not in,'" fullback Lorenzo Neal said Monday.

Indeed, the Chargers still reside on the outside of the playoff picture, needing help to get in. The Pittsbugh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars also won Sunday, meaning one will have to stumble even if the Chargers win out.</blockquote>
