    Studs
Ryan Mathews - What a transformation! McCoy and Whisenhunt fixed a guy more broken than Philip Rivers
Keenan Allen - If he doesn't win OROY, then I don't ever want to hear that anti-SD bias doesn't exist
Chargers OL - Top to bottom, especially as the Chargers were putting their foot on the throat of the Broncos. Reminded me a little of 2006 Chargers OL - you know its coming and you won't stop us
Vincent Brown - Stepped it up nicely in this game
Shareece Wright - what a major transformation over the last two games, still needs to keep getting better but he's made such a big change
Corey Liuget - some big big plays when the team needed it
Marcus Gilchrist - if he turned his head around more he would've been even better off
Chargers coaches in the booth - some great calls for challenges
John Pagano - fantastic game plan

    Duds
The Manning family - Charger fans polite request you both suck on it, suck it long and suck it hard
Richard Marshall - not a particularly strong game

Fine, I'll step out of my e-shell and make a thread. Fantastic overall game tonight. Lets give out some balls:

Ryan Mathews - awesome running all night, a 3rd 100 yard game against Denver, and a 1000 yard season. Kid looks awesome and ran hard.
Keenan Allen - Rookie of the year, no question.
The offensive line - kept Rivers clean and blocked for what was probably the most rushing yards in a game this season (I'm not sure though).
Philip Rivers - for the trash talk and keeping Peyton "fivehead" Manning off the field, even though he didn't have sexy stats. Some jaw-dropping throws.
Thomas Keiser - who the hell is this guy? He's been playing well every time I've watched him, plus he essentially ended the game.
The Defense - held Peyton Manning to, statistically, his worst game of the season and forced 3 straight 3-and-outs. Manning had to play a flawless game because of what these guys did, and he ultimately threw the game away on a pick where Liuget had his big mitt in Peyton's face. Pressure was there most of the night.
Coaching staff - Awesome game plan that worked.
Eric Weddle - that mohawk and beard, man

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I can't really think of any birds to give out on the Chargers.

The Chargers secondary - halp! please! We need an actual secondary in the offseason.
Peyton Manning - for being Peyton Manning/a Bronco
the media - because I barely heard the Chargers talked about and seemingly given no chance.
Me - for betting on the Chargers to win and winning money at work!

    Mostly agree…couple of minor quibbles:

As one who has championed Mathews all along, I don't think he needed much fixing.
His early, excessive fumbling was mostly over by late 2011, and he's just finally healthy.
As great as Mathews suddenly seems to people, he's averaging less ypc this season, than his career average!

Keiser must be on the studs list. Chargers have lost so many games in the past because an INT
like that wasn't locked away. The guy has made some big plays this year, and tonight's clinched the win.

Otherwise, we saw this one the same...

I was thinking the same thing about Mathews. The only thing broken last year were Mathew's collar bone(s) and the o-line. Ryan was not the problem. Sure, he had some fumble problems he needed to fix, but even the frequency with which he fumbled the last couple years was quite exaggerated.

Yeah, Philip just oozes love for the game. I wanted to go out and horse collar a bronco fan after that.

and if The Keiser fumbled that ball and it was recovered by Denver, no one would reexamine their misplaced hatred for McCree

I might be the only one, but I'm going to give a game ball to Shareece Wright. I really like the aggressiveness he plays with. Yeah, he gets beat from time to time but he's improving. It really helps when we don't play him 10 yards off the ball.

I can't tell if you're joking or really this dense. The McCree situation was totally different. It was 4th down. McCree did not need to intercept the ball at all, merely bat the ball down. Keiser got a pick in a one possession game in Denver territory. He should have tried to gain a few yards. Those few yards he got helped seal the victory.

No doubt, every long-time Charger was thinking "Down! Damn it, down!!"
as Keiser weirdly stumbled forward…visions of McCree terrifying them.

At first, I thought Weddle was yelling at Keiser to go down…
then it looked like Weddle was possibly trying to tackle Keiser!

Then, as bodies collected, I couldn't tell what the funk was going on.

But, when push (literally) came to shove, Keiser did secure the ball,
    and ensure his hero status.

Keiser was credited for a 6 yard return.
Honestly, for my money, I definitely would've traded those for him going down immediately,
instead of that scary situation of him holding the ball oddly, being held up, with countless
Denver hands in there trying to strip it. I mean, I get your point…I just didn't think those 6 yards
were worth possibly handing the reins back to Peyton Manning.

I need to find a source for that interview. I wasn't able to watch all of it, and I'm seriously needing to.

Ryan Mathews deserves a ton of credit for this win. I was never worried about "his" fumbling as much as I was his health and being able to stay on the field. He pounded the Donks all night long and it took its toll on them, I loved it!!!!!!

I really think Sc-fi deserves some props as I thought he bounced that ball on the punt to save the illegal man down-field call, at least that was my instant thought at the time.

How about Dunlap on the bubble screen and making the decisive block 10 yards into the Donks secondary, that big boy can play!!!

Gilchrist was a helluva lot more effective at nickel than SS. Might want to make SS a priority in draft or FA this year and get Gilchrist back to where he belongs.

Keiser gets a game ball for the kneeling slide during that pick. Talk about finding a way to generate a turnover in style, right?

I just really loved the game Ryan had last night. I'd bet the Donks defense was glad every time he left the field of play, he had them sucking wind.

Pagano gets major props for this play going down like it did. The defense stumped Manning just long enough for him to hold the ball a little too long. Keiser was actually up on the line at the snap then fell back into a zone while the pass rush came from the opposite side. Great play design, disguised very well.

Not disagreeing with you, but did you not note the double-bicep pose at the end of his play? The purpose was NOT to show off his gun for the INT, but for beating off all those other chicken wings ;)
