San Diego- sunny and 70 again...

Hard work does have its rewards, as any Charger fan can tell you. Today, the Chargers have done almost everything we expected them to do last year- namely knock off the Colts (we own them- ask Dungy) in the divisional round and get another shot at the Patriots, up in the cold of Foxboro. Can you spell AFC Championship Game? In 1963, The Chargers and Patriots hooked up for the AFL title game- the year I was born. Chargers 51- Patriots 10. For my 44th season, I would like to repeat that fetal feat- I was born in Mass, but I was also born a CHARGER fan, and I like to think I helped tip the scales

    Sunday-At Indy

The Chargers played their best game since the 1981 Miami playoff classic- CLUTCH. It does not count until you do it in January- See 2006.

In Dethroning the Defending world champs, San Diego showed that they really are an elite team, one to be reckoned with for years to come. You have to be able to beat the best, and Peyton Manning is the best, it took a supreme defensive effort to take him down. The last 2 defensive series were a test of how far we have really come as a team- I have seen ENOUGH folding down the stretch- (see 2000 season) to last 1000 lifetimes.

I was yelling at the TV-Screw this up and I will never forgive whoever lets Indy score. Thankfully No one has to be the goat, The D held Firm.

This defense is the best in the history of the Chargers- and proved it with 2 major stands- one at the goal line, and one with the clock running out. I almost burst a ventricle when we stopped them on 4th down a second time.
But to even get there- the offense had to overcome the loss of LT, PR, and AG- send in the super subs. a team is only as good as its last man, and finally, the Chargers seem to have the most depth in the NFL- Thanks A.J!!!
Volek, Turner, Sproles and Malumaleuna took the ball and crammed it up Indy's defense's throat. The look on Tony Dungy's face said it all- WE CANT STOP THESE GUYS. Even Charger hater Dan Dierdorf was duly impressed on CBS, finally noting that we might actually be a REAL team.

Around the country, we are getting less than zero respect- and that's fine- its time for everyone in this country who gets their way to not get it this time, for through adversity, one learns character- and gawd knows all us Charger fans have had plenty of lessons in that. Forget the Naysayers, if I listened to them, you would not even be reading this, for I was told more than once- why are you here charger fan, what possible reason could you have to live?

To feed you a big @#$% burger of course, Patriot fan- Better garnish up this weekend- you are finally going DOWN... 17-1.

For The AFC Championship Game- play smart, keep Brady either on the sideline or on his butt, and we can go to the Big Dance.
