....looked real good tonight with a couple of nice catches. I got to see more of him and he did play against some scrubs but I like what I saw of him. He's going to make Norvs decision real tough. Practice squad at least from what I've seen. Dude has real good hands and gets open. Flat out football player.

Martin was one of the highlights of a mostly boring 2nd half. For a few plays he became the go-to guy until the Sea-chickens started covering him like a blanket.

The other Charlie...Whitehurst sure had a rough night. Hope he doesn't drop the clipboard and hurt himself next week.

    Go Chargers!!!

He was impressive for sure. Maybe we should all keep a closer look on this guy because he's a smart receiver and a physical one. He can run his routes obviously and I even saw what appeared to be Randy Moss-like adjustments. I say we trot him out again with Billy Volek or even Philip Rivers and see if he really is something special. Though, this is totally one of those Wes Welker situations, someone we don't exactly have room for on the roster but could get taken on waivers in a heartbeat.

Martin is destined for the practice squad.

If another team doesn't claim him.

Exactly. The FO won't let Buster fail just yet.

I dunno... if Buster doesn't pick up his game he might be the one on the PS. I've heard LOTS of good things about Charly Martin (most of it prior to the game on Sat) and I don't think the FO will want him being poached off waivers, esp not by anyone within the division who needs targets for their QB's and has shown a habit for picking up SD left overs and turning them into stars *cough*Pioli*cough* JMO

I'm pretty sure Buster isn't eligible for the PS.

Buster has to prove something definitively to stay on the roster. If I had to decide right now, I'd keep Martin. Buster never stays healthy.

We have to find a way to keep this kid. I like the idea of 2 QBs only and keeping an extra WR. Legoland can throw picks just as well as Whitehurst can in a pinch.

Put me on the Charly Martin bandwagon....

Dude is a player and a smart player at that...

Even though we only have one game of NFL tape, he sure reminds me of Wes Welker, not necessarily in style but more of a similar situation.

I look at it this way: JV, CC, Floyd, and Naane are locks.

Osgood is too valuable on Special Teams.

    That's 5. We're keeping 3 TE's.

So if we only go with 6 WR, it's got to be Davis/Martin.

Don't forget we have a logjam at RB as well: LT, Sproles, Hester are locks...with Johnson, Tolbert, and Bennet....one of them most likely won't be on the team either.
