Jared Allen's days with the Chiefs appear to be numbered.

Allen, the NFL's reigning sack leader, told FOXSports.com that the Vikings and Buccaneers have held trade talks with the Chiefs and he anticipates a deal will get done prior to next week's draft.

Thank God. He was getting to be a real problem.

Now if only we can somehow convince the Chiefs to get rid of Tony Gonzalez...

I'd much rather watch him get 15 sacks in Minnesota.

Question is. Why do the chefs want to trade allen. He's one of their best players. I'm a guessing but he's starting to drink again. And has already got into trouble but it was hushed up to the media.

Since they are rebuilding, they are possibly looking @ Allen's trade value being high.

Good. Get that guy outta our division.

Unless he came to us.

Allen is a handful. I hope I never see him stuffing PR into the turf again.

In the short term, yes. But it looks like they are figuring out that A.J.s way is the way to go, which might make them tougher to deal with down the road.

    It's a done deal now.

Chiefs agree to send Allen to Vikings
The Chiefs have agreed to trade Pro Bowl DE Jared Allen to the Vikings, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- NFL.com is reporting that the Chiefs have agreed to trade Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chiefs reportedly will get the Vikings first and third round draft picks this year, and the 2nd round selection the 2009 draft.

Allen has agreed to a six year contract for $55 million. $25 million is guaranteed.

Allen was the league's leading sack leader last year and missed two games due to suspension.

He has told NBC Action Sports Director Jack Harry several times he loves living in Kansas City, but wants every Chiefs fan to be aware he has no desire to play in Kansas City as long as Carl Peterson is calling the shots.

The 26-year-old feels Peterson has repeatedly tried to lowball him in contract negotiations.

The Chiefs have not yet commented publicly.

The Chiefs will now have 12 picks in this weekend's NFL draft.

What a great move by the Chiefs. This will go along way towards rebuilding the team.

Wow. The Chiefs did great on that trade. The Vikings sold a lot for Allen, but that front four is easily the best in the league now. There is virtually no answer for Allen and the Williams'.

they've got the Ravens 2000 approach - heavy defense and running the ball with a deadly OL and RB duo. I'm glad we faced them last year I'll tell you that much, they'll be damn tough. THey might've become favorites in the NFC in one move

ANd KC got alot of picks for their effort, they'll be able to rebuild and with a good draft, can start really rebuilding. As a Charger fan I'm just glad Allen's out of the AFC West.

    While I'm also glad Allen is gone with these draft picks they could rebuild rather quickly. I hope Peterson manages to **** it up. I got these picks from a Chiefs board so they may not be accurate;

    Round 1, Pick 5
Round 1, Pick 17 (From Vikings)
    Round 2, Pick 4
    Round 3, Pick 3
Round 3 Pick 10 (From Vikings)
Round 3 Pick 19 (From Vikings)
    Round 4, Pick 6
Round 5, Pick 1 (From Dolphins)
    Round 5, Pick 5
    Round 6, Pick 4
Round 6, Pick 21 (From Buccaneers)
    Round 7, Pick 3
Round 7, Pick 32 (From Giants)

Can you imagine what AJ could do with this....holy ****.

Peterson has a hell of a history screwing this stuff up but hey with this many picks he might be able to find some success, what AJ could do with it is scary as aw hell. He could make any team a competitor with this many picks

The vikings are retarded. They've now proven they're stupider than the deadskins. Thanks for nothing vikes. Whats really a wonder is the vikes screwed themselves last time with the hershcel walker trade. And now they do the same thing again. To do the same mistake twice is beyond stupid.

I agree. Any G.m with half a brain with this many good picks could build a very good team. Stupid dumbsheet vikes. Thanks for nothing.

What's funny is, one more drunk driving incident, and Allen is done for a year.

    Close the bars down Minnesota!

Well I hope they mess this up, cause those 3 picks are enough to make a bad team a contender with the right people. 2 1st rounders and 3 3rd rounders. Dont be surprised if Ryan isnt there if the first rounders are used to select Vernon Gholston, Brandon Albert mix if he falls that far....Another scenario maybe Brandon Albert and Chris Williams to replace Roaf and Shields. Also maybe Sedrick Ellis, and Chris Williams or Jeff Otah! I think I am more worried about them trading him than I was if he stayed and hoped that McNeil was able to figure out a way to stop him.

The Vikes gave up a lot for Allen, that's for sure.

I just hope that Peterson (Carl, that is) screws this draft up somehow. Otherwise, KC could be on the fast track back to being competitive.

Let's win it all this year, Chargers!!!! :bolt: :bolt:

Carl Peterson doesn't worry me. Also, Allen terrorized us. I couldn't be happier to see that production playing in another city. An NFC city. Those picks have huge shoes to fill.

Damn, that Vikes D is going to be SOLID. If they get some production at QB and stay healthy, you might have the makings for a sleeper Super Bowl representative.

...My thoughts exactly. Still, I can't believe what the Vikes gave up for this guy. They seem to have a memory loss because their stupid trade with the Cowpokes for Walker years ago blew up in their face and completely rebuilt Dallas. almost overnight!

Didn't walker play alot more years both in the NFL and USFL prior to being traded then Allen has? Allen's still I think 26-27 or so, and in the 'prime of his career'
