Props on getting Chispa LasVegas I (the early years) off the ground.

leisure is dikkin' the dog and if he shows, well, you two hash it out but until then, he has relegated his status as master gambler guru or however he fancies his sillyass. :icon_toast:

Gotta like Stephen Jackson at 14-1 as well. Better value for your money.

Not as much as it may appear. Young workhorse back, on a talented, balanced offense in a bad division/conference. The threat of the pass, doesn't allow opposing defenses' to stack the box, and the guy will see 25-30 carries a game. Last year he had 346 carries for 1528 yards, so it puts him in the ballpark, and at 14-1 odds, I would certainly put my money on a side bet he wins a rushing title.

I don't think I'd bet most those props with somebody elses $$$

SD less than even money to win the division, and I almost never bet to win less than what I'm putting up.

And all the season results props are total BS. The pats are 2.6:1 to win the AFC and 4:1 to win the whole thing. With that kind of favorite the next closest thing has got to be 8:1 or bigger, but the bolts are 4.25:1 for the AFC, and 5.5:1 to win the SB. IMO these payouts are a total burn. With the Pats so heavily favored these other teams should be getting waaaaaaaaay better odds. But they're not, so I must dub these props sucker bets.

Anybody know the last time a player led the NFL in rushing yardage in consecutive seasons? No disrespect, but I would not bet on LT to repeat (might bet it at 5:1, but 2.75:1 is not worth the risk). I like Steven Jackson and Willie Parker at 14:1. Both guys play behind quality lines and have at least some decent talent surrounding them.

Carson Palmer for most yardage at 8:1 sounds like a pretty good bet. He's got a great o-line and and great receivers. I feel like so much of handicapping is about public opinion moreso than how talented guys are, and the Bangles disapointed last season so I suspect the public is a little down on 'em.... not me.

And ya'll are the CFB pros so you tell me what looks good there... :icon_shrug:

I think LT will repeat, but as was stated previously, I think the smart $$$ is on Steven Jackson. 14-1 is pretty sweet odds for a guy who had an awesome season last year and can definitely get better. Remeber, although they wont even be close to sharing the load, Turner could easily take a couple 100 yds from Lt's total. Be a smart move to keep LT fresh throughout the season, and for future years by utilizing Turner as much as we can. He's a luxury we can really take advantage of!

Wow, JB's record is amazing, 5 years in a row, one year break, then another three years in a row.

Look at it this way; as incredible as he's been LT has won the rushing title once in 6 years. And as great as he was last year he only won it by 26 yards.

I'd say Vegas has it about right... LT is the best bet, but far from a sure one. In '04 and '05 LT was hampered by nagging injuries... nothing serious but a groin here, a broken rib there, and suddenly he looked human. Even if he stays 100% healthy all year will the Chargers throw more in in '07 than they did in '06 with PR having another year of experience?

Given the odds posted, the two guys I like are Frank Gore and Stephen Jackson.

Well... there's no denying that LT is in that class of elite backs. But that action is still all you. LT to repeat pays +275, and that's just not sweet enough for a 17 week wait. I mean seriously, I would put the odds of LT leading the league in rushing at somewhere around 4:1, and I wont make the bet for any less of a payout.

I dunno why it doesn't have totals listed for them. But pretty much every place I found season win totals there were a couple teams that were blank. I agree about the Falcons under, but I doubt anybody is still taking action on that here in Vegas.

And hanastly, time isn't as much a factor as payout. I really don't like placing a bet where the payout is less than my perceived odds of winning. That's why I almost never play parlays... your chances of winning a 2 teamer are about one out of four, but it's only going to pay you +260. You'll hit a three teamer about one out of eight times and get payed only +600. Here in Vegas, at least, the books make a killing on parlay players. I look at the LT prop the same way. Nobody is going to convince me that LT has better than a one in four chance of leading the league in rushing again. So unless I see that kind of payout I say no action.

I need to look around here in town, 'cause it's my understanding that a lot of the props you find on the 'net are only through the offshore gambling companies. Especially considering the state of online gambing in the US, I feel a lot more comfortable going to a sports book than betting online (despite the juice). So I've got to find out who taking those props in LV and see how their numbers compare.
