Smokers at Qualcomm Stadium may soon have to light up outside the venue during games and events.

And those who tailgate in the parking lot may have to enjoy their ice cold beverages in cans or plastic bottles this season.

Without discussion or fanfare, the San Diego City Council passed two ordinances yesterday to regulate smoking and tailgating at the stadium. The ordinances must be voted on again and then would take effect in 30 days.</blockquote>
