I'm sure it's been stated somewhere in the gameday thread or elsewhere already, but I think it bears repeating:

Clinton Hart... you should be ashamed of yourself... getting burned by a friggin' d-lineman on a gimmick play!!!! That was downright pathetic and has made you worthy of Elvis Patterson's most notorious nickname...

In fairness to Hart, that was a perfect throw, and although he's a DE, Allen has the athleticism of a tight end.

Watch the play closely, everyone knew what the chefs were gonna do and Hart still takes his first step in toward the line instead of jumping on top of allen from the snap like he should have. He bit on the fake and was unable to recover. He would have been able to easily defend that play had he stayed at home.

Exactly. He doesn't even give himself a chance at making a play on the ball, let alone getting a hand on the "receiver". Allen does fake a block on Phillips for a second, but the play action is going away from Hart's side. For a guy who's asked to cover DBs at times, this was just awful watching him get smoked like that by a d-lineman. Even getting a hand on Allen probably would have made him bobble the ball out of bounds.

Not to mention the sure int he dropped in the 4th quarter. The dude just flat out sucks.

Man I miss Terrence Kiel.

I can't wait for Weddle to push him out of a starting job.

Clinton Hart will be watching from the sidelines soon enough... Weddle is coming on strong.

Hart is a bad safety and shouldn't be starting. There is a reason it took him this long to start in the NFL.

He doesn't help the CBs with their protection and most of his assists come from the fact that HE needs assistance to bring them down not the other way around.

He should of made a play on the ball. Look he played WR before and he saw the ball coming. He should turn his back and jump up trying to get the ball. Since both have equal right to it he wouldn't of been flagged. Instead he practically stands by and watches the TD only to push Allen down still in bounds.

At least Mcree covers short zones and is a good hitter. He takes bad angles and can't cover deep to save his *** but in shorter zones he is pretty good. Hart has no such good points and should, frankly, not only be benched but be cut. Even his 'boy' - trumpie - isn't defending his worthless ***.

    Next year you need
    FS - Weddle
    SS - Mcree

I would grab one in the draft also, The way the team is shaping up it looks like the only pressing needs will be RG (unless Olivea moves inside) Safety and DL depth

I wouldn't draft another safety next year, Weddle will be starting but he's young, you can't have 2 inexperienced safeties out there, you need a veteran to be with Weddle

Next year's draft? a NT to backup and later on replace Jamal

Depending on how fast Oliver matures, Cro could shift to safety, then with Weddle, we'd be rid of both Hart and Mother McCree, who could man the Nickel. We DO need a young nose and a RT so Olivea can move inside. Safety is down the list a bit, if we can find one on the second day.

    Cro at safety?

Safeties have to be able to tackle, unlike corners.

Oh yes he was....at the pub he was defending him.

I still think McCree is worse because Hart at least is decent against the run and can tackle..and he does have some INT's.

BTW...that was a great catch by Allen. Not many DE's that are that athletic and can make that play.

Yeah I was. ANT is spreading misinformation. The same type of stuff happens to Champ Bailey. One bad play and dude is worthless and then the next INT, dude is god. I think I screamed Rivers was the "chosen one" as well but then I was yelling alll sorts of ****....

and then my stinking DVR did not record the game for some reason....FAWK :icon_evil:

Been discussed here before. I'm not sure how it would work out, either, but if Oliver emerges then we have some flexibility. I'm not too happy with Hart and McCree is not a real asset. He isn't a huge liability, but Cromartie would probably tackle better than him and would certainly cover better.
