    The Officials have to work their way up through the ranks, and in Football that means working at the College level. Baseball the Umpire’s work their way up through the Minor Leagues, Football doesn’t have that luxury.

    The only avenue the NFL has to bring in guys with NCAA Experience, and bring those guys in that have worked with the major Colleges to get that experience. To get up there, they have to have worked Games at the High School level, which means they learned by doing Pop Warner games. It takes time to get experience.

    Exactly. The NFL should start recruiting and training refs. Not waiting 10-20 years for them to be seasoned.
