Most of the starters are obvious and I agree with "most", but some have me a bit confused...If you were looking to strike conversation or debate then I think you will get it with this thread...

    • You cut David Binn and Osgood? I think both make the squad!
    • If Sproles makes the squad, he will be our 3 back.
    • Who the hell is Germaine Race and why is he on your 53 man roster...? If not Sproles, then Pinnock is your 3 back.
    • I think DrayFlo is our other starter opposite Q to start the season.
    • I don't see Paul Oliver anywhere????

    Hmmmm...

    1) Binn and Osgood are both expendable.
    2) Sproles is listed as a returner but can of course play RB.
    3) Germaine Race is a RB on the Chargers.
    4) I am not sure you are rading this correctly, I have Cro starting at the RCB spot, and DFlo backing both Q and Cro.
    5) #25 Paul Oliver is listed.

    1. Binn does not make mistakes...Don't fix what isn't currently broke! Osgood is a terrific ST player...He may be expendable, but that would be a tough one for the coaches. Like I said...I think both make the squad.
    2. If Sproles makes the team then Race will find another team!
    3. I know who Race is, I simply think Thumper, me, you, trumpy, little train or any other poster brings more to this team then Race will. Race = Camp Fodder!
    4. I know why I missed Oliver...You have him listed as a Safety not a CB...Oliver makes this team as a CB.
    5. You rock at Trivia and for that reason, I may boycott Wonderslugs Friday night game of twister.

Where's Roman Oben? You think Clary is gonna push him off the team? He's practice squad eligible still I think. Applewhite's a OLB, as he was a DE at SDSU. Yes, Paul Oliver is strictly a CB, Gregory could play S I think, but I still think C.J. Gordon would stay over him. And Jue over McCree? After all that good stuff that was said about him (other than the playoff game)?

Atleast you have my boy Waters starting (he's not gonna, but I'm still proud of him).

Why what happened? Did he get hurt during a practice?

I know he had his foot injury last year, but he even played a little at the end of the year. They had that article where they shaved his heel bone and fixed it, and had a dead guy's ligament attached to him, and now he's ready to play. Did he change his mind recently and wanted to retire? Because if not, he would be an excellent backup and mentor to McNiell, with experience we need over Clary.

There was something about his foot, nothing major. But he is getting long in the tooth, and you never know how a foot injury of that magnitude will heal up.

As you have all guessed I am doing a bit of speculating with some of the cuts. After all, I dont work for the Chargers...

Your list is alot like mine, and I like some of your changes.

Sproles is my #3 RB no matter what. If he is healthy, he will make a great change of pace back and a good return man. He stays, and he stays a viable RB.

I like the idea of having Withrow as a long snapper, but we are making a Super Bowl run...so Binn would stay on my roster for this season anyway.

Osgood and Polk would stay, even if Applewhite (who is an OLB) has to go. Osgood would be in the spot you have Nanee, and I would cut Pinnock for Nanee and "call him" a FB...or a TE...or late for dinner, it doesnt matter because he is staying on the roster.

Depending on Oben's foot, I would keep him over Clary. Oben helped solidify this line in 04, and I would like his veteran leadership and Super Bowl ring in my locker room.

You have Dobbins as Merriman's backup. I like Dobbins more than Wilhelm and Cooper, but I dont think he has the size to play OLB in a 3-4.

I do enjoy the fact that you have Floyd and VJ as starters....that is going to be great for the Bolts this season. They havent had run blocking like that at the WR position in years! Parker is more of a Proehl/Stokely type of slot WR IMO, and Im sure Davis can add a speed out or slot element to the team.

I also like Jue beating out McCree....Jue lead the team in INTs two seasons ago and was injured for a bulk of the year....while just learning the defense.

I also kind of wonder if Dobbins may beat out Wilhelm for the ILB spot before the end of the preseason. Very interesting time of year!

I didn't want to put repeats, so I left off Sproles as 3rd string RB, Mruzcowski at both G, etc.

And if Parker is put on IR or something, Gregory stays.

Practice squad... Louis Leonard, Nick Roach, Jeromey Clary, Tyrone Gross, Greg Camarillo, Andre Coleman, and either Mark Bihl or Erik Robertson.

I believe Camarillo is ineligible for the practice squad. I have to check, but hasnt he been on it two years?

You might be right. Screw it, he can bounce. He's Parker Lite anyway. Hard working small receiver without lots of natural talent, but does all the little things right. He could go do that in Houston or something.

Now that I look at it, Bingham should probably stay. Too few DL, plus he can switch between DE and NT. So, Siler to Da Squad or Osgood out.

Race brings more than I would, but then again, I'd still be drunk from the tailgater.

I don't think Race will make the team though.

I think with NFL Europe folding they should have expanded the PS by a few players. Teams need a way to develope some of these raw players. A 10 man PS would really help. They could increase the NFL roster by a few spots, but that was voted down this fall.

The roster below is quite close to what I might have... However I don't see Applewhite and Siler both making it, one of em goes to PS. Jue is v fortunate to hang in there. It's tough to see Bingham go and they did carry both he and Mt McKinney last yr, this is a close one to call but McKinney is a keeper.

I definitely can see Clary pushing Oben onto more 3rd world charity work (which I commend btw). Pape might even have a sniff. I'd like to see one of the new guards make a real push eg. Robertson, Sheffey or Jones. Chandler might struggle to make it past the PS. Naanee can make him expendable. The big call is Sproles, if he goes then we might see Gross coming in with the Burner returning ko's.

    If Parker goes to PUP then I make it I have 4 spots to fill (App/Siler, Chandler and Oben). In their stead come;

Clary (OT), Jones (OG), Camarillo and maybe Leonard (DL).
