I think after 3 quarters he got a text from Detroit saying they weren't sure about hiring him so he decided to call some plays that got positive yards.

Yeah, I was unhappy about him leaving before, but now the door can hit him on the way out for all I care.

It was a dumb decision to try and run the ball down their throats through Woodhead. I love the little guy, but he can't lead the run game.

Who knows what might have happened had he let Rivers play football earlier, but alas...

Probably. I'm surprised he wasn't wearing a Lions hat on the sideline.

They just can't help but to promote themselves every chance they get. But really Whiz was not into this game. He held us back the whole first half and we just ran out of time

Of course you'll blame this on Whiz being selfish and not putting enough time into the gameplan, but haven't most of us been complaining about this all year? The playcalling has been way too conservative. It was too conservative last week, too. Wins can mask alot of problems. I had a sick feeling going into it that SD would be too predictable and rely too much on the run.

Too bad the Head Coach was powerless to do anything about it (that is, if he wasn't behind it)

Yes. I wasn't a big fan of Whiz and the play calling long before we found out about these interviews the 3 nights before the biggest game of the year.

We became to committed to one brand of football, we weren't even close to prepared for what might happen if the Broncos (who heard about our running game all week) we're able to stop our rushing attack. I didn't see one screen to a WR or a RB (designed) or even a simple slant to Allen until the 4th quarter. It was a copy/paste scheme from the last time we played them. No wrinkles.

I hope we promote Reich, and I hope he preaches true BALANCE not just the running game or the passing game.

I know some Cardinals fans and they've been saying the same things about him being way too conservative like that.

Yeah I should clarify, he was not awful this year, he was not 2012 Norv, in fact I liked a lot (most) of stuff I saw throughout the year.

But his conservativeness kept points off the board in I would say most of our games. We got away with it last week, but damn it was nerve racking. Other times it we lost because of it.

This particular game goes in a special category for me though, as low effort. I saw nothing we hadn't run a million times before, and it reeked of a play caller who put in the minimum amount of work leading up to the game.

I hate those two and their incredibly whiny and bitchy show so I'm rolling with this even though I really don't know anything about it.

Billy Ray is positive to a fault, he was like the only one who thought we were going to make the playoffs at 5-7.

    McCoy couldn't override Whiz?

Is that bad or good for the Bolts future?

Yep. It's all Ken's fault. He purposely tanked and McCoy just sat there and let him do it.

You know, if I were in line to take a promotion with a competitor the first thing I'd do is purposely sabotage the operations of my current employer. That'd show my new employers that I mean business and am someone who can be trusted to run their operations!

It certainly sounds that way. McCoy said many times before the season Wiz was going to call plays, and he said after the game tonight..."I'm not going I second guess my coaches."

Which of course is a not so veiled way if saying "my coaches ****** up but I'm not allowed to say that."

Believe what you want. If you want to believe a conspiracy theory there's nothing anybody can say that would make you not believe it.

I'm just going to call it out for what it is.

I'll just point out that if I'm the Detroit Lions GM (or whoever there is in charge of hiring the next HC) and I even suspected Ken Whisenhunt blew his playoff game because he couldn't wait to move on I'd be cutting his name off my list and moving on.

Conspiracy theory? Of course not. Don't be deliberately stupid, you're better than that Leo.

What I am suggesting is that Wiz was not prepared for this game, by way of having 3 interviews the week of the game, including one just last night. We were talking about this all week, where were you?

Honestly we're talking about 3-6 out of 142 hours in a week. Whiz had plenty of time to prepare for a team that we have faced and prepared for to other times this season, and I am sure he was a true professional while game planning for his current team. The truth of the matter was they took a horrible gamble thinking they could week 15 it and run all over them. Unfortunately for us our most valuable weapon was incapacitated for most of the game.

Rivers was 18/27 for 217 yards
    Manning was 25/36 with 230

SD was 18 for 65 yards rushing
Den was 34 for 133 yards rushing

Denver had basically an entire half and some change with possession (35)
while SD had the remainder of (24)

    Denver had 26 1st downs
while SD had 13 1st downs

Overall it was a team loss on all 3 phases.

Not many if at all thought we'd even make it this far with what we had so I take this as a win overall although I am heart broken at the same time.

If we can do half way as decent with the draft and FA as Telesco did last year I see great things very quickly for this team.

Locking up Butler is number one priority
    and we need to draft
CB, OLB, NT, OG/C, WR, RB preferably in that order

I'm all for moving on from Whiz now. Having said that the O line was in an awful state the first half. It seemed there wasn't a whole lot we could do and it's not like Vincent Brown or Gates can get open. It was the Keenan Allen show the second half and if Rivers were to look Ladarius' way now and again he'd be a nice compliment.
