27 points allowed in our last three, 20 by the D (Rivers pick 6 doesn't count). That's an average of less than a TD per game.

Fuq yes, the dude deserves mad props.

Factor in Cro's TD, and they are -13 points against the opposing O's that we have faced over the last three.

    Incredible.

Um, he has. Problem is, Merriman just isn't getting to the QB like last year. You can thank Cro's first INT to SM for tipping the ball. I'll take an INT over a sack any day!

When we dont give up 30 points to KC and New Englsnd, ill give some love.

Shutting down Denver,Oakland and Houstons offenses is what we should do.

Not for nuttin, but Rivers has almost given up just as many points this year as the defense has the past 3 games. KC, inexcusable, NE.....they are doing it to everyone. Besides, I'll cut my guy some slack, it was our teams second game with him.

I'm not giving Cotrell credit for ****** play by the opposing QBs.

I have a message for Cotrell....

I haven't forgotten that just 4 weeks ago you help turn us into one of the laughing stocks of the league.

Now do your job and figure out how were gonna knock some QBs on their asses.

Thank you for sticking up for Cottrell. Not bad for a coach to turn a team in just 4 weeks from a laughing stock to a shutdown defense once again!

Once again, thanks for supporting my argument!

And once again, I will trade a QB sack any day for an interception. And I do believe we have more INT's so far this year then last. And by our DB's. Not the guy we let go (Edwards).

Is Ted supposed to teach some secret move that beats O-lineman? It's on the players. The D calls have been tits.

You guys that see otherwise need to look at the scoreboard more.

Seriously, we are giving up less than a TD per game over the last three. You had to figure there would be a "getting to know you" period with our players and coaches. It's a brand new staff. It's just mindless hating to still be criticizing. I don't care who the opponent is. This is the NFL, and we are talking about less than 7 points per game over three games. Props.

People are too worried about stats. You do whatever the hell keeps the other team from scoring. Points allowed is the only measure that matters.

LMAO. He's gotten a lot better as the season goes on. I have to give him props for adjusting and using his star players better. I'll admit I was down on the guy early on, but I still miss Wades attacking D......

I understand that and thats great but in those three games we played Denver Oakland, and Houston. Not exactly offensive powerhouses but i like the improvement. I am just skeptical till we play well against a good offensive team.

You have to udersdtand for me....i hated Ted's hiring and im not sold on him till the defense plays well against better teams and we really havent played one yet since we lost to KC and THEIR offense isnt that good.

Its just gonna take me a while to warm up the Teddy the Hut.

The only one that really matters is PF/PA, all right. Teddy will make a believer of me if the pattern of the last three weeks is the same as the next three. My hat's off to whoever taught the DB's to tackle.

Difference is that Rivers is a 2nd year starter who has already made the probowl and having a bit of a down year for him. Cottrell has been in the league for YEARS.

So has Brees and he has sucked this year but he did have a good game yesterday. 4 TD's yesterday and he still has more INT's than TD's for the year

Rivers will be ok. He has done something Brees never has here and that is beat Denver twice on the road.

Your argument doesn't hold water. Looking at scoring offense we have played one elite team [the Pats (#1)], a top ten team [Houston (#7)], three middle of the road teams (GB (#11), Chicago (#16), and Oakland (#20)] and two bottom ten teams (Denver (#27) and KC (#28)]. Both good and lousy offenses scored against us during the 3 game losing streak and both good and lousy offenses didn't score against in our wins.

Keep up the irrational Cotrell hatred but don't try to convince us it's fact based.

The best barometer in this entire forum is when you add p88f agree on something. That is the clearest indicator that the opposite of what you think is true.
