For those few humans on this planet who have athletic talent the rest of us cannot explain and can only partially believe, amazing feats are accomplished once the game slows down.

This is what has happened for Antonio Cromartie over the past month, a span of four games in which he has scored three touchdowns and intercepted six passes.

“You start recognizing stuff from watching film, and then you can go out and just play football,” Cromartie said. “For me, the biggest thing was going on the practice field and having great practices every day. And this year I really learned how to watch film from Coach (Kevin) Ross and Coach (Bill) Bradley. They taught me how to watch film, how to go about it, what to look for.”

Cromartie, yesterday named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, has been playing more and will continue to do so.

Within 2 years our secondary should be:

    Safety

    Weddle and Jammer

    CB's

Cro and Oliver with Gordon playin the nickel

its like baseball, you don't take out your hot hand
Why you would with Cro is beyond me
and frankly, move D-Flo to nickel. He hasn't been impressive starting

Flo to the Nickel. He is mostly just good for 1 or 2 bone-headed penalties a game and a side order of burnt toast.

Cro is playing so far above hims right now it is silly. The other Int that made me go WTF, was the one where he dove in front of Wayne. He was BEHIND Wayne and broke on the ball and Wayne was standing there like "I can't get to it".

Cro is even faster than Flash Gordon. He MUST start for us to strike fear in QB's hearts when they go to pass.

That is precisely as I see it as well. AJ needs to extend Cro ASAP. I suspect quite strongly we'd be better off starting Weddle ahead of McCree, all ready. I also suspect that the guy who makes the biggest difference Sunday will be Cromartie, more than anyone else. I'm thinking a coverage sack or three and pick offs. I don't think we've blitzed Cro yet. I wonder how fast he could get back there? Oliver is still a cypher. Like Cro, his second NFL season will be tantamount to a rookie year. Flo SHOULD be at the nickel, indeed, when Jammer gets back.

    Agree!!!

I think if Marty still was the coach Cro wouldn't be starting he'd leave DFlo in there

Not to turn this into a bash Marty thread, but we all know how loyal Marty was to the starters. Let's hope that Norv doesn't have that same propensity.

    Start Cro & Weddle!!!!

I was just reading Buck's quote in your post and my wife was standing behind me.

Needless to say after a smack on the back of the head, she explained to me that for a post with no words I was spending too much time reviewing the picture...:icon_huh: :icon_shrug:

    Thanks Philly! :icon_evil:
