Seriously....I've been to some loud playoff games like the Colts last year and the Jets in 05....but this was some good stuff today.

I hope some of the out-of-towners who want the Chargers somewhere else had a good listen to what a motivated San Diego crowd can do...We turn up the amps when we start believing and get excited about something. Just wait until the playoffs...We're going to go off!

Great job to all of the fans in attendance today.

It was awesome. Loudest I have ever heard during that sequence where the Bengals got called for delay of game, false start, and a TO.

In 17 years worth of attending Chargers games (and yelling my darn fool head off!) I can not remember the crowd being that loud for that long...ever! The Chargers fans in the stands understood how important that series was and stepped up big time....now where do we come up with 60,000+ game balls?

    EDIT: Found it!

Ugh... that was a good song like 19 years ago.

Cool tune and I love Pennywise, but that's like the single most over-played punk rock song in the history of humanity.

The crowd rocked Sunday, I stood up for all of the big plays, but was shocked to see most Chargers fans in View level, just sitting, and clapping. I looked back, and motioned for people to get up, but was surprised to see them sit. I hope if we get the 2nd seed, people go off, we saw what happened to the bungles offense when the 12th man is loud.

That was fantastic. What a great job by our fans yesterday.

I have been at louder games. Chargers playoff games and 98 World Series (84 wasn't as loud because the outfield was still open). But I have never heard a louder regular season contest.

    Way to go Bolts!

Chargers get boost from Bolts Believers

    Casey Pearce
    Posted Dec 21, 2009

Several Chargers said Sunday that they’d never heard Qualcomm Stadium as loud as they did during the team’s 27-24 win over the Bengals.

Sunday’s events around the NFL assured that the Chargers will have at least one home playoff game in January, and that means Charger fans will have at least one more opportunity to raise a ruckus like they did Sunday during the team’s win over Cincinnati.
“There must have been 10 people on the sideline and I’ve had 10 people since the game say that’s got to be the loudest they’ve ever heard our stadium,” Turner said. “Our fans were unbelievable.”
The Chargers improved to 5-2 at home this season with the victory and 17-6 at Qualcomm Stadium since Turner became head coach in 2007. He doesn’t take lightly the crowd’s ability energize his team and aid them through tight games like Sunday’s.
“It matters,” Turner said. “It’s a big part of being successful. We’ve got a talented team, but when you get to play at home and you get to play in front of our group, it matters.”
The 68,889 fans present made Sunday’s game the most highly attended Chargers game of the season. The effect of the crowd was no more evident than during a late third-quarter drive with the Bengals took penalties on three consecutive plays and eventually had to punt out of their own end zone. The Chargers got great field position out of the drive and turned it into a field goal.
“That’s the kind of enthusiasm we need from our fans because they do help us out a lot,” running back LaDainian Tomlinson[IMG] said. “It helps bring out a little extra in you and they need to bring that every Sunday we play here.”

    My brother was pissed.

I was up taking a piss during that sequence. I'm sore I missed it (sure as hell heard it) but the stadium was loud pretty much the entire game. :abq2:

I thought it was pretty neat that all of the 50 and 60 year-olds, as well as the people in their 20's and 30's all knew the words to the Pennywise song and were singing it with pride in their voices. It was surreal and a thing of beauty! I would have to rate that noise up there in the top 3 or 4 for loudness. For me, the playoff game against the fish in 95 was the loudest, followed by the "Sheli" game. Oh, the music master in the stadium needs to get rid of that Neil Diamond song, almost felt like I was sitting in Fenway...

    Pointy :icon_twisted:

Fair enough... just don't look it up on urban dictionary.

The song is an homage to dead friends... so it's actually poignant as pertains to Chris Henry. But I'm sure that sentiment was lost on 68 thousand people.

To all my friends, present past and beyond
Especially those who weren't with us too long
Life is the most precious thing you can lose ...
