Bet I'm not the only one that is perfectly happy with this move by Shanarat. ;)

This really shows how well they draft players.

I remember when we signed ex-Bronco Niel Smith for a time and that guy really made our team better.

He was a hell of a player at one time. I guess we'll see how much, or how little, he has left. It won't help him to be coming in this late as far as the playbook and everything else goes.

If he was anything like his former self the bucs wouldn't have released him.

He will bring a vet presence, but he isn't young, he isn't the Rice that played for the Bucs, and he is on his last contract. He will help the Broncos as Donnie will Help KC...Neither scare me, and I don't see us game planning any different.

Shanahan is doing his thing - he didn't learn from signing the Browns castoffs, now he's going for the Bucs castoffs. It's nice to see the enemy grabbing at straws.

Actually, today was the show where they make their season predictions and both picked the Chargers to win the division at 11-5. Schein had Denver at 10-6 getting the wildcard. Solomon had them at 9-7 and missing the playoffs.

Simeon had 2 sacks last year and was healthy enough to play in only nine games. I don't see him being too big of a factor.

After surgery to repair his injury he suffered last year, Rice failed a physical with Tampa last month.

He's still questionable regarding that injury.

The Donks need somebody, anybody, for the D-line. When Ekuban went down it hurt. I think their defense is going to take a step back, even with Bailey and Bly on the corners.

Yeah, being soft up the middle means teams will be running on them all day. Bailey and Bly will grow cobwebs due to lack of action.

True enough. If we have to pass more than 10 times in a game I would be surprised. We will of course pass more times than that but won't need to.

That line in front and their linebacker corp are playing mostly out of their natural positions (DJ Williams for examle) will get caught up in that meatgrinder known as the Charger offensive line. I would very much like to see a return of Martyball for the Denver game.

Simeon Rice is simply fodder being led to slaughter.

He still has talent and his stats are really down last year because he's injured. Basically he's still a good pass rusher but no where near the level he was with Arizona or Tampa

That would be quite an accomplishment to even go 7-1 in the division for a single season.

Denver won't have much of pass rush and if we run for enough yards, maybe we'll get extra credit. Seriously, though, we should be able to run just about at will against Denver at this point and Oakland and KC are nonfactors. Without a decent pass rush, Rivers can pick the donkeys apart. Bailey is 6'0" and Bly is 5'10". I think we might have some fun watching VJ, "M80", Gates, Naanee, even Davis, having a height advantage and they can all jump. VJ and Gates played hoops and are good at shielding the ball with their bigger bodies. Then there's Chandler at 6'7". Rivers won't have to win this game because we can run so well against them this season, but he will throw. It's quite possible that our only close game in this division will be IN Denver. Nobody in this division can match our offense or defense. Oakland came the closest last year. I say we run the table.

Throw on top that the Donks' defense in the preseason showed slow progress in grasping Jim Bates' new system, and they could struggle early on.

Wouldn't it be fun if Buffalo puts a hurt on them this week?
