The defense has stepped up tremendously. I wish in the game against Pittsburgh we would've been able to stop them, but they ended up getting a field goal. Against the Raiders this week, we stepped up in the second half. We came in and held them well. The team has been working on our pass defense, especially the pass rush to create more pressure on QB and make them throw the ball. We're also working on our pass coverage, making sure we're in the right position so we can stop anything that comes our way. We're a good team. We're the same team as last year since we have everyone back. We went 12-4 last year as the same team. We've played tough teams this year, and the three games we lost, we've lost by no more than 9 points. We're going to continue to play hard and hopefully win our division and onward to the AFC championship.

On Sept. 12, I held my annual fundraising dinner for the Jump for Life program at the Pamplemousse Grill in San Diego. We raised $250,000 with 125 people at the event for charity. Jump for Life is part of the After School All Stars program that educates kids on childhood obesity. The program focuses on physical education, health, nutrition and goal setting. We're doing a pilot program in 20 schools in San Diego County and we're working with Children's Initiative, After School All Stars and the county's board of education. A bunch of Chargers showed up including Drew Brees, LaDanian Tomlinson and many others. Robert Griffith from the Arizona Cardinals came out, too. It was a great night for a great cause. I encourage everyone to check out the website for more information at http://www.afterschoolallstars.org
