Your tile looks nice...I'm going to be tiling my bathroom floors myself .:icon_eek: ...I have the tiles just need to find the time...my cousin who could build a house himself showed me how to do it...the cutting is the only complicated part and he has the right equipment...I like to do little home improvement projects...and my 14 year old has a knack for it...she can fix almost anything...:icon_eek: Right now we are painting the loft... I'm tired of having contractors in my house...and sometimes I don't like their work...plus when it comes out nice you can look at it and know that you did it.

I am going to take some pictures of some stuff that is the **** for bonding tile. The kitchen tile was placed directly over laminate counter tops and plywood finished walls.

The tile saw is under $100.00 at Lowes (around $75.00). It is a snap to use. I will get a photo of that sucker because it is still in the house.

Be right back !!! These are killer TIPS that not even Bob Vila doesn't know about and he thinks he knows his ****....sheeet..... :abq2:

Cool...now if I get stuck I know who to come to for tips...;) The kitchen is my next project so I'm glad you mentioned it...I have some nice looking laminate now but I want tile...My maple cabinets are almost new and will look even better with tile on the island and countertops. I'm glad you mentioned that.

Laminate underlayment and tiles bonded directly to this surface. Just clean surface, apply mastic with notched trowel and apply tiles.
Do a basic layout before you cut anything and rock and roll.

I totally trashed this thread :icon_rofl: :flag:

Kimmie does have a point in that the HD TIVO is a small part of the total package for hedonism. :abq2:

What other football sites gives anyone FREE tips on tile installation? :flag: :icon_banana:

I don't know if they're morons but I do know they like to get it done fast and sometimes sloppily...After my entire first floor was under 2-3 inches of water and having contractors in my house everyday for 4 months, I'd rather do what I can myself...plus I don't mind it. I consider it exercise lol...

It probably has something to do with the fact, I have been involved in over one billion dollars worth of construction defect litigation (class actions included) which has jaded me somewhat.

When a homeowner pulled a gun in my office and I told my boss to let it go (since I was the one who got drawn upon), my boss did not let it go.

I have stories for days about some of the largest contractors and the **** I have seen.

If I can do the work myself, I will do it myself.

Contractors are almost as evil as the IRS. :icon_eek:

I lost my mind on the guest shower.

The cabinet drawer handles are hand made out of clay and fire hardened to look like rock handles. We made these here and can not be purchased so it has that eclectic look.

Now if you want to see my mind at work:icon_eek: , here is the guest bath sinktop and I can not figure out how I want to accent this biitch with the with small white tiles and the mosaic strips on the splashes. I am conflicted on a layout and have been stuck for 3 weeks and hoping I will be inspired.

Hey, Trumpie the handle on that door in the pic above, from that angle and lighting, looks like a bronzed turd.

I do not like the color. I wanted it to look lighter. I think I will re-paint it to look more like the color of the kitchen tiles - tan.

Glueing some flies on the handles when I sell so someone thinks they are grabbing ****.

I am not sure if you noticed the foliage in the foreground of picture number two? That is a hearty plant for that area especially if you like smelling a skunksass. :icon_eek: :icon_rofl:

I was able to see all the foliage. :icon_eek: :icon_rofl: With what you have created just needs more green around it and a path that leads to it. Like a little get away outdoors.

    Just my opinion.

I had the chop saw in the room and those things kick up a lot of dust so the linen is to protect the bamboo curtains from getting **** in and on them. I ain't chop sawing **** outside in this heat - screw that...
