Have any of you noticed this? I don't remember anyone posting about Donnie and his knack for being around the ball, so I thought I would start a thread about it.

    Thoughts?

I think the better phrase is that "Donnie never met an ankle he didn't like."

Threads like this are why Thumper (as rumor has it) is contemplating bringing back the ASYLUM.

Does this mean that you haven't noticed? Seriously, you should check out some game tapes. He always seems to be right there near the ball.

It was because of his lack of speed and testies. he was a step too slow and wanted to avoid contact

What about his int during the playoff game ? :icon_huh:

Doesn't that kind of show a knack for being around the ball in the biggest game of the year ? :icon_shrug:

What about his entire career? :icon_huh:

    From ESPN:

For his career, Edwards has 1,479 tackles, 21½ sacks, 27 interceptions, 51 passes defensed, 14 forced fumbles and 10 recoveries. His 17 interceptions are the most by any linebacker in the league since 2002 and he led the Chargers in tackles in each of the past five seasons.

Edwards has posted 150-plus tackles five times in his career. But his interception and passes defensed totals also reflect his rare ability to drop and cover as well.

Donnie and Deion Sanders are both very similar in that they both have a knack for the ball and both hate contact of any kind.

The major difference is that one is a CB and the other a LB. It's kinda tough to play ILB in the NFL if your top priority is making sure that you don't dislocate your vagina.

That statement is both unfair and inaccurate.

Donnie has had plenty of bone-crunching hits on ball-carriers over the years.

All's I'm saying is that it is a lame take to suggest that a football player hates contact, when he routinely makes 150+ tackles a year.

Besides, "plenty" can have different meanings to different people.

I've been married 12 years, with four kids. I probably get laid less than you do. What's your point?

Well, you've been laid at least 4 times since your wedding.

That's more than most married men. :abq2: :abq1:

Donnie just didn't have the size to smack down a runner. And he was slow to cover. But he had great hands. Once donnie got his hands on you he wouldn't let go. The only problem was the runner usually ran another couple yards dragging donnie along.

More like 6 or 8 unless another player knocked him down first.

A "Donnie tackle" is like having a terrier get hold of your pants leg - more of a hinderance to progress than anything else.

Not necessarily. His wife might have had quadruplets. :D

Wouldn't that suck? Get laid once and end up with 4 kids...
