NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck has a torn left anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the rest of the season, and outside linebacker David Thornton will have season-ending shoulder surgery later this week.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher announced Monday that test results show Bulluck tore his left ACL during the third quarter of Sunday's 27-24 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins. Bulluck will have surgery within two weeks.

Thornton had been deactivated for the game, but the Titans (7-7) hoped he might return.

A 10-year NFL veteran, Bulluck is the franchise's leading tackler and in the final year of his contract. He made his 127th consecutive start Sunday, second only to the Washington Redskins' London Fletcher (148) among linebackers.

I'd rather it hit C. Johnson instead, dude will run for 150+ yds, 2TDs against the Chargers :icon_eek:

Doesn't matter what Johnson does, we can OUTSCORE the Titans, especially with their 2 starting Linebackers OUT.

That and VY has looked lost in his other games against us...we did a good job of shutting Benson down last week, and we need to continue against CJ.

Phillips: No Christmas cheer in Bolts-Titans game

By BERNIE WILSON (AP) – 2 hours ago

SAN DIEGO — Outside linebacker Shaun Phillips says there won't be any Christmas pleasantries exchanged between his San Diego Chargers and the Tennessee Titans on Friday night in Nashville.

Philips says it's more likely going to be elbows and knees going back and forth. In other words, expect a physical matchup when the AFC West champion Chargers try to win their 10th straight game and lock up the No. 2 playoff seed against a Titans team barely alive in the playoff hunt.

The Chargers beat the Titans twice in 2007, once in a nasty regular-season game in Nashville and again in the playoffs in San Diego.

During the regular-season game, Shawne Merriman hurt a knee on what Phillips said was a cheap shot. Four players were fined a total of $32,000. Phillips was dinged $7,500 for a horse-collar tackle.
