For the 2nd year in a row, AJ has pulled out the gem of the draft. First it was the best OLB in the league. Now it's a franchise LT in round 2. Damn. Having AJ as our GM is almost unfair.

yea in hindsight, i do give credit to smith for the mcneill pick. but during the draft, there was a lot of talk about his back problem, and how that would affect his pro career. what i want to know is, how did the chargers get inside info on his back vs. other teams?

I always loved the guy and thought we might take him in round 1. The guy might have some stenosis in his back, but so do alot of people. The important thing is the severity of it and what part of the back it's in.

I think McNeill dropped because people were too cautious about his back. The Bolts rolled the dice because, while he did not practice much in college, McNeill didn't miss any game time because of his back. I also think that Marcus comes off and a funny, friendly and laid back and teams were afraid he didn't have a mean streak in him. But when dude puts the pads on, he's one tough SOB who doesn't take ****.

yea the stenosis...but isnt it still kinda odd that smith would use his first 2 picks on players working through injuries? granted, mcneill started almost every game at auburn, but there still mustve been some inside info on his condition that no other team had...either that or 31 other teams are just dumb....
