Draft report card are in: Grades for all 32 teams

    San Diego Chargers B-

The Chargers' first four picks were interior players, evenly split on both sides of the ball. English seemed to have come off the board earlier than expected, but of the hybrid DE/OLBs he's probably the most stout against the run and has the most upside. DT Vaughn Martin, although a solid value, is the draft's biggest mystery. He has all the measurables, but he played in Canada and didn't dominate. If Martin lives up to his physical promise, GM A.J. Smith looks like a genius again. RB Gartrell Johnson is the pile mover the Chargers lacked

I think that's a fair grade and assessment. You never know how it will all turn out until 3 seasons. But if just these 3 reach or exceed expectations, we will look real good. Many a so called "expert" has given AJ a bad grade, only to regrade his draft a lot better 3 years later.

Agree, fair grade. Far too many so called experts hate our draft because thier draft experties didn't know about the MAC and Canada...

That seems about right and about the same score that most draft experts gave the Chargers this year. Most seem to think that English was drafted a bit too high and Martin, while physically impressive, may be a question mark because of lack of playtime in the U.S. We'll see how it goes.

Grading this draft right now is like buying a wife from a Russian catalogue. The guys who write this stuff think we're sitting on the sofa drinking white port and lemon juice. I'll try not to take that personally.
