FLORENCE COULD RETURN TO CHARGERS, VISITS BILLS
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 6:06 a.m.

Cornerback Drayton Florence left the Chargers a year ago and signed with the Jaguars.

Now that the Jags have cut him loose, Florence could be returning to San Diego.

Per a league source, Florence is talking with the Chargers, who selected him in the second round of the 2003 draft.

But there’s another team in play — the Buffalo Bills.

We’re told that Florence visited the Bills on Thursday.

Because Florence was released by Jacksonville, he immediately became a free agent and didn’t have to wait until midnight Friday to start looking for a new team.

    Whatever about DFlo......

How about the lunacy that is paying DeAngelo Hall more than 40m in guaranteed money over 2 yrs?. This is just wrong period. In these hard economic times it is not right to be giving this sort of stupid money to a player who is not stellar.

    Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Al Davis and Snyder, you are asses for doing this.

I am sure that Aj is just waitning for the RIP seal of approval.

Because clearly signing like Rivers, LT, Sproles, Merriman, Chambers, VJ etc were horrible as Rip's post indicates.

Don't forget that AJ failed to cut Dielman... which was another horrible move.

I'm sorry Mr Florence but you position has already been filled by a Mr Cason and a Mr Cromartie. We have no room for a playerr of your......talent. Please vacate the premises.

NO AJ, NOT D-BLOW. If he couldn't cut it on the Jags, I seriously doubt the Bills will pick him up either.

I actually liked Florence but not better than Jammer, Cason, or Cromarti (though he sucked last season). I just don't see were we could put him.

    Who?

The guy who lost his starting job after 4 games?

    A glorified Dime Back?

A complete rock head in pressure games?

    Pass.

I'm sorry Mr Florence, you lost any chance of ever gaining any respect from the fans or organization when you headbutted that player in 2006 and helped cost us the Patriots playoff game. We got rid of Mcree and Parker too. Now you can go away

Maybe, if he's willing to play safety.

Neither are really starting material, Gordon has better hands and is probably a better playmaker, but Florence is bigger and a better tackler.

I'd give the edge to Florence.

Yes, let me put it to you this way. If Cason gets moved to FS, do you feel more comfortable with Florence at nickel or Gordon?

This is the only logic I see in bringing Florence back. IMO he's better then Gordon.

Dude you're talking to Rip, he thought Florence was our best CB for a while and I'd imagine he still thinks he's great.

I'm not on the Florence bandwagon but I still think Florence is better than Gordon.

Id rather have Tay Cody than Gordon, hes garbage

Florence is 100X the player that Gordon is, and in a man to man defense, i still think Florence is better than the overrated ***** #31, and while cocky, he still doesnt have near the ego that Cromartie has, and is actually willing to hit someone and not just try to push them down

Id be one thrilled charger fan if we brought him back

Do you like the idea of moving Cason to FS?

The only good reason I can think of to bring Florence is that he has a petrified head and hands that match. He'd be good safety material but that's about it, he can still unload on players but would be less likely to commit stupid fouls. Then again, we are talking Florence here.
