Jackson released for off field activities, and alleged gang connections.

I'd still sign him. Not to $10M per though.

Jets, Chiefs most likely candidates. I'd roll on NYJ, because he wants that market for his musical side show he's got and also former coordinator Mornhinweg and former QB in Vick. Also an out-spoken and player's coach as well in Ryan.

    NYCharger knows what's craccin', cuz.

All that aside, I'm sure that the Eagles are doing what they feel is their due diligence and not wanting to deal with any Aaron Hernandez-esque problems should the allegations be true.

    Yes.

There is no hard evidence that he is gang affiliated. He hasn't had any major off the field issues. He's been a diva at times, but that's his personality on the football field. It's very Steve Smith-esque. It's a guy you love to have, but hate to play against. He isn't a WR1, he'd strive as a WR2 in this offense alongside Allen, Green and Gates.

I doubt it's due to any one reason but a collection of them - and the "gang" associations are one of many contributing factors that ultimately come down to them feeling that he's simply not worth - to them - the price tag (which he seems to believe should be increased above what it already is).

From what I hear, Chip wants to implement the offense in such a way that there is no "primary/#1 receiver" that can be keyed on by opposing defenses and that wasn't/doesn't mesh with Jackson who bases his entire financial worth off of being "the #1 WR". Thus far, I've seen enough from Chip to have faith that he's capable of adapting to and innovating to account for life without DeSean Jackson. Whereas DeSean is coming off his career-best season in a scheme that likely shows to maximize WR output because of the increased touches it affords them (I wouldn't be surprised to see the Eagles have as many as 4 receivers next year with 45+ receptions).

It's a little more than that. DeSean envisions himself as a lesser Suge Knight. He's not a gang member (I feel pretty safe in that statement), but he endorses, financially backs, employs, and promotes known gang-members and their lifestyle... and profits from it (or would if his rappers were actually any good).

Steve Smith is a hot head with a bit of a Napoleon complex who was an academic as well as an athlete. DeSean Jackson coasted as an academic, has been purported to have had a "tutor" that did a majority of his work for him at Cal, and made no secret about the fact that he smoked weed regularly in college. One of these guys sure likes to, at minimum, represent himself as living the gangsta lifestyle much more than the other.

Yeah I think the Eagles let him go because he was an ******* who didn't really fit in with Chip's scheme, and this saves them a lot of money off their 2015 cap. But the gang stuff is probably why he was released rather than traded. If Blaine Gabbert can fetch a sixth rounder the Eagles should have been able to get something for Desean.

I think whoever gets him is going to get a pretty dang good wideout. It won't be us, I'm guessing, b/c we need to keep some powder dry for other upgrades.

Nope, but it is a comedy...... a "holiday" comedy. I even featured it in one of my game day graphics.

    Scrooged?

    ----

On topic? I'd take him if there weren't other areas we need to be focusing on. WR is one of those areas I think we can safely say "we're good." We could be better, but we don't need to be.

& Desean Jackson's cap hit for 2014 is $4.25M... We can't afford that with the release of everyone's favorite player (66)?

Sounds great until you realize he's guaranteed $12 million for 2015.

ARE spanish? or speak spanish? (I wouldn't call an english speaking american english) and BTW, yes, there is an I in "equipo" but in spanish it doesn't mean anything (there should be a Y and an O)

He's guaranteed $16 million. That money will hit the cap at some point.

EDIT: Which isn't to say that he isn't worth it, just that a move like this makes Jackson our big free agent addition for the 2015 season, something I'm not sure we're ready to commit to given the holes on the roster.
