    Updated after 49er game:

So here is my early TC sketch of our final roster. I am going under the idea that no UDFA will make the final roster due to no OTAs and Mini-Camps. Just too hard to learn enough to be effective. Probably see a few on the practice squad though. Also going under the assumption that we will sign a veteran ILB before camp ends. Am I wrong, who am I missing, who have I over valued??? Got 52 listed with the extra spot being for the ILB. Let me know:

QB Philip Rivers Billy Volek Scott Tolzien 3 (Added Scott to the roster, he's shown too much and wont make it to the PS without being sniped)
RB Ryan Mathews Mike Tolbert Jordan Todman 3
FB Jacob Hester Frank Summers 2
WR Vincent Jackson Seyi Ajirotutu Bryan Walters 3
    LT Marcus McNeill 1
    LG Kris Dielman 1
C Nick Hardwick Scott Murcz 2
RG Louis Vazquez Tyrone Green 2
RT Jeromy Clary Brandon Dombrowski 2
TE Antonio Gates Randy McMichael Kory Sperry 3
WR Malcom Floyd Patrick Crayton Vince Brown 3

    K Nate Kaeding 1
    P Mike Scifres 1
    LS David Windt 1

DE Corey Liuget Jaques Cesaire 2
NT Antonio Garay Cam Thomas 2
DE Luis Castillo Vaughn Martin 2
ROLB Travis LaBoy Larry English 2
ILB Donald Butler Charles Bentley 2
ILB Takeo Spikes James Mouton 2
LOLB Shaun Phillips Antwan Barnes Darryl Gamble 3
CB Quentin Jammer Daunte Hughes 3
CB Antoine Cason Marcus Gilchrist Shareece Wright 2
SS Bob Sanders Steven Gregory 2
FS Eric Weddle Darrel Stuckey 2

    53

PS Scott Tolzien, Isaac Odim, Steve Schilling, Bront Bird, Carl Ihenacho, Colin Baxter +2 more

Odim gets pinced off the PS if he goes that far down the depth chart imo.

I like the potential of some of the UDFA WRs, but some of them can sneak on the PS and do the usual work ur way into the starter role. *Legs, Siler* Two of the more recent late round picks that went from ST to eventual starter Legs more out of necessity with massive WR injuries. I still dont think we used Legs enuff to gauge his usefulness.

Earn your way up is the AJ way.

Yea i just realized the folly of our Pseason schedule. Now being the 1st ever Pseason game post FockOut, alot of ppl and team scouts will be watching the NFL debut. Could be pretty hard to sneak any of our favorite UDFAs onto the PS this year.

Wow, that kid has got one hell of a highlight real. Of course its against Division 2 people but that kid has great balance and acceleration. Exactly what I've seen in practice this week. Really think this guy has a PS spot locked up.

I really wish that we would add a vet RB and ILB.

I'm ok with RB, Tolbert and Hester can handle anything Mathews cant. And I really think Frank Summers makes this team and provides the hammer weve been missing since Lo Neal left town. We are paper thin at ILB and if someone gets hurt we have no depth.

I like the look of the squad as a whole unit.

My only comments are that we are still light at ILB and we could do with better talent at OLB to help Phillips. I don't have any faith in English anymore!

Should/will Holt not make it?. The LaBoy signing might put paid to that. Who is this guy Robinson at WR?, any good?, might Walters stick instead?. I could see us go with just 6 D linemen. Todman might not make it either esp with what I am hearing about this Odim guy. Carrying Summers might be a luxury we can't afford. Tolbert and Sperry can probably spell Hester at FB. Other than that I like it.

I don't know about 2 fullbacks, maybe have one (Summers) in the practice squad and keep another ILB

Put Floyd in, took Robinson out. Think Summers makes this squad unless he doesnt show up during pre-season. Got Ihenacho in as a place holder for our veteran LB we will pickup. He has been the best of the UDFA's in camp that I have seen. We've got one open spot left on the roster up there and I'm sure it will go to someone who can help on ST's. Would love to save it for Goodman as a full time returner but I just don't think we keep 7 WR's on roster. I also have us keeping 9 lineman while we only had 8 last year (but I think we ran into health issues with only 8 so I'm betting we keep Nick Richmond to help out at Tackle). We had more DB's on the team last year but Safety is so solid this year we may go one less or we use that as the 53 man ST help.

I'd leave Richmond on the PS and promote Goodman....... he's the best returner option we have. Cason and Crayton can handle punts, but we need a guy with speed, and no fear to return kickoffs..... that's Goodman.

With the changes in kickoff rules, will a good return man really make a difference? Many people think that the rules will just increase the number of touchbacks

It will, which means you need a good return man to have any shot at getting good field position. People say that it will nullify the value of returners..... I don't see it that way.

Well said Bluebolt! Cut Hester = yes sir!

All I want to know is who is BlueBolt? He cannot be a normal poster. He is way too smart to just come on here and know everything right? I would want him on any my championship teams TBH. As an adviser or player...

Seems like Odim would be a perfect fit to replace Sproles & be our kick returner and also play him on kick-offs see how he does. If Mathews goes down Odim could also 1-2 punch with Tolbert.

Dream of Odim taking his 1st NFL kick-off 99 yards back to the EZ! Game on fans!!!

Remember fans usually great players in college are great in the NFL. Div 2 is still football. If he was undersized then maybe he would be a risk.

I have high hopes for Odim too, but I'd like to see him with the big boys, before I anoint his arse...... #imjustsaying ;)

Well said. Also consider his upside. He will be even bigger and faster by day 1. All he has been doing is probably lifting weights and running. Add to this some ppl even still grow late in life. I think we will know his NFL life after his 1st 3 kick returns TBH. If he is able to run through NFL players then he is awesome right away. If he trys to out run ppl to the sideline he is done TBH. I hope he starts in pre-season right away and we get it over with asap. I predict he will do his greatest if and only if he starts right away, confidence thing. 1 Cut then go stuff. Also he will have light more mobile pads at the NFL level not that college junk that is hard to run in.

If we are to believe early reports, Odim has a shot at leap frogging Todman, who we spent a draft pick on. If we could continue the Charger legacy of finding UDFA diamonds in the rough, then fans should be pleased.
