According to ESPN reports, Ed Reed has been released by the Texans.

Any thoughts on where he lands? I doubt the Chargers will make a play for him given his age and price tag, but I wouldn't be surprised if a team that is making a playoff push signs him on a 1-year deal.

Think he would be a decent fit here? I know we need help in the secondary, I just don't know where we would play him and weddle

There's usually a reason that players get released.

Yes but I'd rather take a chance on Reed vs Bob Sanders like we did a few years ago

Reed basically bashed his coaching staff this week.

    He's kind of a loose cannon....I'll pass.

He's also been an absolute shell of his former self this season. It's not like Houston has been a team that has difficulty pressuring the passer this season and yet Ed has been straight up getting abused - on the few instances he's actually been health this season. He's old. His body's breaking down. Maybe a team that looks to have a playoff berth already sewn up takes a crack at him, but more likely he ends up similarly to Asomugha - in a suit in a studio as an analyst come playoff time.

Yep, and he's 35, and he's not the player he once was...... and he's been injured...... and he makes a lot of money. ;)

He is aging, but I would like to see if he could help our young CBs out. Then again, I am not sure the team can afford a 20 piece chicken nuggets with a coupon, so the point is mute...

I would lose faith in Telesco if he even thinks about bringing this guy in.
With that being said, I doubt my faith will be tested so early in Telesco's historic
    Chargers career...

Unless you have a time machine to run Ed Reed through the Chargers shouldn't go within a mile of him. Old, slow and broken down...yeah, that's just what we need to shore up our secondary....uh, no.

Obviously the Ravens (never mind the Texans) wouldn't have let Ed Reed walk, if he was still Ed Reed.

That said, 2003-2010 Ed Reed was one of the most fun defenders to watch, that the NFL has ever seen.

And off to the Jets he goes. Reed now gets to play his former team twice this season.

By a sheer quirk of the schedule, new Jet Reed (if he actually gets to play)
would face the Ravens 10 days from now.

    Are you assuming a Jets/Ravens playoff match-up?

Perfect fit for Reed. Jets will use him the right way.

Nope. He already played them once this season with the Texans. It'll be the second time when the Jets and Ravens line up next week.

The Charger defense could use 11 guys like him, can he be cloned?
