With rookies reporting to training camp Sunday, it appears first-rounder Larry English will be the only tardy draft pick.

Talks are in the preliminary stages. The Chargers do not generally sign their first rounders early, and only four first-round picks have been signed league-wide.

Sixth-round pick Kevin Ellison remains unsigned as well, but that deal is expected to be finalized Sunday.

The Chargers completed the contracts for their three fourth-round picks Saturday.

Defensive end Vaughn Martin got $2.236 million over four years with a $486,000 signing bonus. Center Tyronne Green and running back Gartrell Johnson, who were successive picks, could each make slightly more than $2.15 million over four years with signing bonuses of just better than $400,000.

Third-rounder Louis Vasquez agreed Friday on a four-year deal worth $2.55 million with an $800,000 signing bonus.

Fifth-rounder Brandon Hughes signed last month for four years and $1.94 million with a $186,000 signing bonus.
Seventh-round pick Demetrius Byrd, who is recovering from injuries suffered in a car crash, could go unsigned as the Chargers monitor his health.
