"• Safety Eric Weddle was fined by the NFL for his hit on Kevin Boss on Sunday. "

I know thats not what this article is about, but its the most interesting thing in the article. This is the worst fine this year bar none, watch the replay again and it was clear shoulder to helmet contact only because Boss ducked to take the impact. The NFL is pussing out on this one, just because it looked violent doesn't mean it was illegal.

I also wonder if this doesn't draw a fine if Boss hadn't been leveled by what was a VERY bad helmet to helmet earlier in the year (can't remember by who).

Feeding a TE who dares go for a pass across the middle some shoulder pad is not a crime.

Silver lining? Weddle gets popped for 7.5k but Cuddles gets popped for 20k just for mouthing off

    NFL = No Fun League?

BS call, if Boss hadn't ducked his head in to Weddle he wouldn't have gotten his bell rung.

I would like to know who it is that figures out who to fine and why. I would also like to say that high def is obviously a waste of money because even with all this HD tech they still continue to get it wrong time and time again.

Weddle appeals fine on Boss hit »
    By Ralph Vacchiano

Chargers safety Eric Weddle is appealing the $7,500 fine he received from the league on Friday for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Giants tight end Kevin Boss.

Weddle’s agent, David Canter, told ProFootballTalk.com that he and Weddle have already filed an appeal with the NFL. The report says they are claiming contact was made with Weddle’s shoulder, not his helmet, and that he did not intend to injure Boss.

“Eric’s helmet did not contact Boss’ helmet initially and he actually let up on the play and contacted him shoulder-first,” Canter said in an e-mail to PFT. “[Weddle] never hit him with any intent to harm nor did he launch himself into Kevin. We’ve appealed the fine and are hopeful after carefully reviewing the tape that the league will rescind the fine.”

Canter clearly believed all along the hit was legal. Not long after the hit took place, he said via Twitter “Love to see my clients laying the lumber. Eric Weddle just ran through Kevin Boss who is easily 60lbs and 5 inches bigger.”

The ref didn't throw a flag, it's legal and therefore BS on the part of the league.

holy crap. harrison doesn't get fined.

difference? giants and steelers vs. chargers and broncos.

the nfl will go out of its way to protect their baby boys.

rodney harrison destroys trent green's knee and kurt warner leads the rams to the super bowl.

bernard pollard blows up tom brady and we get a rule change.

I would like to see it again...I was wondering if my homerism was totally engaged when I watched it the first time. I thought the announcers said it looked clean?

I applaud him for the hit anyway...we have got to get mean on defense!

Seriously I watched it like 15 times when it first went down and I thought it was pretty clear that the initial contact was helmet to helmet. Who gives a **** about Weddle's 7.5K? At least he didn't draw a flag.
