I guess the Browns figured if they were going to lose their first 5 or 6 games, they might as well lose them while Quinn is getting valuable experience.

I think the Browns figure that this season may be a wash, and at least give the rookie QB some valuable playing time so he's ready for 2008.

Quinn isn't the type to develop psyche problems by losing a bunch of games his rookie season. The Browns are impressed with his pocket presence, the way he conducts himself in practice, and the way the team seems to respond to him when he's out there.

They are betting he develops like Peyton did, going 3-13 his rookie season, but then have that be his only losing season as the starter.

Especially when their backup QB Seneca Wallace >> Charlie Frye.

    Frye's strictly #3 QB material.

Unless there's a Seneca Wallace injury I don't know about.

Other than the Chargers is there another fanbase in the NFL that deserves a winner more than the Browns?

I think the Cardinals. Pushed from Chicago to St. Louis and
now in the desert of Phoenix.

If that's true, then they would have been better off signing Byron Leftwich as their #2 instead of Frye.

Thats true and Holgrom said if they could get a vet backup they would like to move Wallace to WR because he is their best athlete. I dont think Frye is that bad, .....i think Cleveland is that bad.

Frye is decent. He's big and strong, but we handled him pretty well last year:
