Well, it's been said that a parapalegic dyslexic monkey could coach this team and still win a superbowl. With Norv, we'll now have to do it with LESS than that.

You have got to be kidding.

I guess AJ expects players to perform on the field but not his coaches.

Turner has been horrid as a HC in the past.

As much as I love AJ this is not moving forward.

    Turner blows.

Well, you took Jordan. He won't be back next season, so I'll let you take Norv.:icon_tease:

This dialogue maybe in during the interview:

AJ: "You are expected to win games here."

    Turner: "Yes, Mr. Smith."

AJ: "You know I am the boss here."

    Turner: "Yes, Mr. Smith."

AJ: "They also call me GAWD."

*Turner prostrated himself in front of the stool and worship GAWD to show how intelligent he is*

Wow I'm shocked.... this appears a strange choice looking in from the outside. Maybe those candidates that came in were not as good as we thought they were and AJ plumped for 'better the devil you know'...

I'm going to have faith in AJ's decision, and forget about Norv's head coaching experience in the past. I cannot wait to see our Offense live up to their full potential now. I can see up keeping the Burner now too. Philip et al will be unstoppable now.

Let's hope Ted can maintain the level of defense we've been playing...

FFS .. with all of these other potentially great HCs, he chooses the worst.

Longtime league assistant coach Ted Cottrell, whose experience with the 3-4 defense is extensive, will meet early this week with San Diego officials about the position of defensive coordinator for the Chargers, ESPN.com has learned.

I HOPE HE IS HERE TO SIGN A CONTRACT

    uhhhhhhh no
I think another more plausible reason is that a young head coach like a Mangini and a Payton went into a situation that needed to be totally torn down and rebuilt. Here they'd be caretakers of what is already a strong defense and offense in place; those 'young guns' like a Rivera or a Singletary would not be allowed to truly show their coaching prowwess because they wouldn't be allowed (and rightly so) to change much of anything.

From the outside looking in, that's certainly the way it appears. AJ is a control freak and desperately wants to get

all of the credit for any success.
