I found this thread to be an interesting read, if only to lighten the mood. Just do not ask me how I found it or why I would be looking for something like this in the first place.

It is hilarious that the blue chip WR prospect in that draft was Mike Williams

A lot of them wanted to trade down and try to get him in the late 1st/early 2nd. I think we were lucky to get him where we did.

that was the scouting debate with him; whether he had the ability to break away enough at WR (though he did against lower level competition) or whether he'd move to TE because of his size

It's been categorically answered i'd say

All I have to say is thank goodness AJ didn't listen to me since I was on the "BMW" bandwagon. So glad Detroit GM at the time Matt Millan once again, picked "BMW" (now Bust Mike Williams) with their pick! Thank you Matty!

Personally, this is the quote that stood out to me:

"One scout, who like all of them asked to remain anonymous, stated Jackson has the softest hands of any college wide receiver in the nation. Others have suggested he has the softest, most polite attitude they've ever run across."

The bolded is very, very rare among wide receivers...I can count the number of elite wide receivers who are humble and polite on one hand: Vincent Jackson, Derrick Mason...hmmmmm, am I missing anyone?

Good read. Luckily their war room didn't see it. LoL
Now let's take a look back at the WRs drafted ahead of VJax (pick 61):

#3 Braylon Edwards (Cle) - Still a Solid WR
#7 Troy Williamson (Min) - One of the biggest busts ever! Does this pick trump Heyward-Bey by Oak?
#10 Mike Williams (Det) - Bust!
#21 Matt Jones (Jax) - Bust! Became a drughead.
#22 Mark Clayton (Bal) - Good WR
#27 Roddy White (Atl) - Very Good WR
#35 Reggie Brown (Phi) - No comment.
#39 Mark Bradley (Chi) - No comment.
#55 Roscoe Parrish (Buf) - No comment.

I found only one WR worthy of mentioning after VJax:
#83 Chris Henry (Cin) - Had talent.

Explain. There is a reason why he will be commanding Revis's full attention on Sunday.

I love east coast bias as a comedy of errors...and remember, I live on the east coast.

East Coast bias? I'm from California btw...

    Receivers Darelle Revis shut down:
Andre Johnson (4 catches, 35 yards)
Randy Moss (4 catches, 24 yards) 1 interception
Marques Colston (2 catches, 33 yards)
Terrell Owens (3 catches 13 yards)
Randy Moss again (5 catches 34 yards, 1 yard TD pass)
Steve Smith (1 catch, 5 yards) 2 interceptions
Terrell Owens again (3 catches, 31 yards)1 interception
Roddy White (4 catches, 33 yards)
Reggie Wayne (3 catches, 33 yards) left game in 3rd quarter
Chad Ochocinco (0 catches, 0 yards) left game at halftime

Other than TO, I wouldn't put VJ infront of any of these recievers.

VJax is as good as these WRs. The only thing these guys have on VJax is more catches. He's as good a deep ball receiver than most I've seen in the NFL. I tell ya one thing: Revis will find out just how physical VJax can be.

I was going to respond with more, but then I saw you are both a Y-U-C-K-S and Trojan fan.

So, you are two times an idiot.

He's definitely to be discussed in this group, and while Revis does deserve credit for shutting down big receivers, he hasn't gone against someone as physical as VJ. And in addition even if you shut down VJ it's not game over. With the exception of the Pats and Saints, none of those teams have the plethora of weapons we have, and Revis is just one man.
