The word "fluke" doesn't exist in my dictionary.

It's a stupid word that's thrown around by idiots who refuse to believe what they see happening before their very eyes.

And if Rivers continues to do well and has a great season he'll call it a fluke season. Maybe even a fluke career if Rivers continues to play well.

The only thing that's a fluke is that guy has the permission to write such an article. Actually, it's not a fluke, but a flat out mistake!

Well, I don't have ESPN Insider, so all I could read was the first paragraph. I can't tear apart a paragraph with no substance. :icon_shrug:

Since it's an 'Insider', you need to pay money to read the rest of the article.

    That, I will not do.

Instead, I'll spend my money much more wisely...like on a Rivers jersey for my son for his birthday next month.

It is a mathematical fluke in the sense that neither he nor any of his receivers (save Gates) have had seasons like this before.

But it's just as easy to say that the last couple seasons have seen players grow and develop, and are only now coming into their own.

I mean, I'm sure people said Brady's first season/Super Bowl was a fluke at first. But as time went on, they saw he was the real deal.

If Philip keeps it up, they'll see it for him too. Only time will tell.

So what? He doesnt think Rivers is that good or the receivers are not that good. So what.

We will prove him wrong. Nothing to get bent about.

nobody was getting bent. I was actually laughing at it. I just crack up at the media and how their ever loving dislike for the Chargers continue. Last time I checked this is an offense that has been one of the tops in the league since PR has been at the helm.

Now granted it was as well with Brees, and it does help to have LT but PR is finally coming into his own and we now do not have to rely on LT to get it done but nobody wants to give him credit. I am good with that though cause hopefully he will continue to fly under the radar until we win a lombardi.

highest qb rating after 6 weeks... hmm, hell of a fluke. 7:2 TD to INT ratio... hmm... thats a fluke... 67 yard pass to vincent jackson on the 2 yard line... hmmm... thats a fluke.

usually i dont trust stats by reading em, but ive been watching them add up and they arent some statistical anomaly; odds of this being just a fluke are like a .00001% chance.

'The more I practice, the luckier I get' - Gary Player once said after a broadcaster accused him of being a flukey golfer.

    Go Phil.......

    Have the flukiest year ever.

For someone who seems to be point to all these "facts" and mathematic impossibilities he gives NO evidence whatsoever to support it.

As for having a better O-line and receivers. Take a look at Tom Brady and how well he did with crappy receivers. There are no good QBs without people behind them.

I bet this guy thinks Cutler is a great QB too based on his own mathematical formula which he won't give up. Either way he seems to give bad advice for Fantasy owners, listening to him and benching Rivers and starting another QB would seem like bad advice at this time.
