...Surprising since he was pushing so hard for Moss again as of yesterday. I hope this has nothing to do with Moss. It's going to kill those fans in Green Bay. They look at him almost like a God.

They must be in denial because their website still has nothing on it.

there was a packer website that a week or two ago was posting that the packers were announcing Farve's retirement but wasn't true. Also shortly after that the Packers officially announced Farve was staying put.

    So i'm kinda confused

Well, my wife's bummed as she's a big Green Bay fan. We also have friends who are Packer season ticket holders.

I really thought he'd go one more year.

This is honestly surprising. I was thinking that based on how close they came last year to the SB, he would give it one last shot. But I guess it's best that he walks away after a great season.

Thanks for the memories Brett, you are one of the greatest!

So is the entire town of Chico. Great, now all I'm gonna see is Green & Yellow #12's.

I'm just glad I got to venture to Lambeau and watch Brett light up the Cowboys a few years ago. One of the true highlights of my NFL fan-life.

no but should I? Would he be willing to be our backup RB?

Seriously Farve is a hell of a player, one of the greatest QBs of all time and by and large a good guy.

One of the handful on non-Chargers I will miss. I was looking forward to a possible showdown with PR.

This sort of reminds me of asking if Johnny Unitas should have come to the Chargers. Johnny U. was a childhood idol of mine but boy did he suck *** while in San Diego at the end of his career.

Great players do not always translate into great coaches. James Lofton is a prime example as our WR coach.

Favre has horrible mechanics and to teach someone how to do it right, when you do not practice what you preach, may prove to be futile.

Favre may very well excel at coaching but my gut says he would suck.

That Much Is True But I Think He Relates To Players So Well That The Issue Of Mechanics Might Be Small....

Favre is just an attention seeker and was p1$$ed that the Packers didn't try and get Moss for the second straight season...last year he said he was going to skip a team mini-camp and then didn't...this year he is turning it up a notch and pretend to retire for a while.

Once he gets all the calls from his coaches and teammates that will 'convince' him to rethink his decision he will decide to return to the team because of the outpouring of support from the team and fans. That will happen when you don't hear Favre's name on any major sports program for about a week...I'm guessing shortly after the draft Favre will likely unretire...

Favre is a pu55y, whining like a little girly man because Ted Thompson didn't go after Randy Moss.

Wide receiver is a STRENGTH on that Packer team. And it is totally selfish to demand that the Packers sign Moss, locking themselves into a contract that would adversely affect their cap long after Favre retires.

If he changes his mind and wants to come back, the Packers should tell him to shove it.

Having said that, I give Favre props for marrying who I consider the most beautiful wife of any pro athlete:
