Malcolm obviously read AJ's (sorry, Acee's) Blog in the UT yesterday that urged him to sign!

This is his breakout year if he stays healthy.

I'm glad we've got him back on the team, but couldn't we have signed him for longer than a year? To me a two or three year contract would have been better than just a single year.

If there's one thing he brings is size and presence in the EZ and I think, if healthy, he bags a half dozen.
The truer measure of his progress is if he beats out Chambers for more playing time.

If he doesn't or - don't laugh - Davis for example, steps up above him in the pecking order then the Bolts haven't committed much needed long-term capital to a bench player.

I'm fine with that. I think that his worth is much more than the number of TD's he has. He had huge receptions last year and I think he plays a vital role in one of the better receiver corps in the NFL. IMO.

It's really in the best interest of the league AND the veteran players to put a rookie cap in place - I bet some form of it will be put into the new CBA.

    RYAN LEAF

we paid that jerk a ton of $$$$$$$$

I am sure there are some vets that would love to take some of the money being thrown at the rookies and have it go thier way!

I hope so. I dont think the players are stupid enough to want to see an uncapped NFL. It will hurt them in the long run.

I have faith it will get done...

Do you think a vet who will never see $41.7 million in guaranteed money in his entire career is going to hold out for a Rookie?

Do you think a vet is going to let his sport spiral into the abyss for some rookie? I don't.

I think both management and labor knows that an uncapped season will ensure there is never again a cap, and it will slowly kill the sport.

It would be a shame to spend a ton of bucks to build a State of the Art Stadium just to have it collect dust. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys is going to be a leader in free spending.

Cowboys, Redskins and Giants would probably profit most from it initially. But they would then be hurt by it as small market teams start folding.

It think we will get a new CBA, I dont think Jones and the other big market owners are dumb enough to let it go away. I think the players also want it.

But who knows what will actually happen... :icon_shrug:

I believe most vet's would go for a rookie slotting cap, more bling for them. There are way more vet's in the league than rookie's so who will vote it down?
