I've said it before, and I'll say it again, steele, concrete, fuel prices have all gone up dramatically. Coupled with the recession, no city would be in their right mind to build a stadium for the bolts, or any other team for that matter! They are going anywhere!!! :bolt:

Hmm. That is one hell of a project! Raised taxes anyone? Serioulsy, how the hell could any city afford that in these times? Rising steel costs! Construction material costs! Outrageous, I think SD is gonna enjoy the franchise till the world ends in 2012...j/k for a VERY LONG time.

Agreed. It's all about the future value of land that the city would be willing to part with in exchange for the new stadium.

Still, this is the first rendering that I've seen that is convertable for considerably more events than just football. It would be a boon for local tourist industry.

Cool, but no way hockey buys in.

    And, probably no NBA

I was thinking more of conventions, special events, trade shows, concerts, tennis, super bowls, college bowl games, final four type stuff.

The complex would be sooo easy to build and be a benefit to San Diego.
But, since San Diego as well as other Citys, can't seem to be able to "afford to pay attention", It's not gonna happen.

With the economy the way it is, the Chargers will be at Qualcomm for atleast 3-5 more yrs.
