Actually they have 3 championships and 5 AL pennants in the past 10 years.

The also have zero championships in the last 6 years.

    What's your point?

    :icon_shrug:

point being, they spend like it's monopoly money.

    and it's ruined the game.

    imo

Yes it has. How can some Teams compete. The Yankees have 2 Guys, whose combined salaries, are more than some Teams combined salaries.

But the good part is watching George squirm. He is spending all that money, and is not getting a return on his investments.

The AL has been Yankees vs. Red Sox for about 5 years. Coincidentally, they are the two biggest spenders in MLB.

I like the Yankees somewhat, but I'm always happy when a spend-hungry team like the Yanks or Sox gets beaten in the postseason by a club that is middle of the road or less in terms of salary level.

But he was sure making some funny faces when the Yankees went on that losing streak earlier this year

The Yankees demonstrated for many years that spending a ton of money doesn't mean squat if it isn't spent on the right players. When Steinbrenner backed off and let Cashman run the team, they suddenly experienced a ton of success and won all those recent rings.

And that doesn't change my basic observation. It's the same in all sports. Look at the Redskins. Daniel Snyder spends a ton of money and has nothing to show for it.

No worries everybody. There's a small-market team with a history of success that is about to shock the baseball world.

    More to come.

First of all I'm not referring to the Pads however you guys will win the division. Arizona will stumble with so many young players and Sept is where you win your division.

As far as the team I have been referring to I don't wanna jinx it so I have to be cool for a minute. All I will say is there is a team in the AL that is going to throw a serious wrench in the AL Wild Card race. :abq2:
