    Forney back midweek; English today

Larry English is expected to practice on a limited basis today after missing almost three weeks with a hamstring strain. If all goes according to plan, English will make his NFL debut Saturday in Atlant.

Head coach Norv Turner said he expects right guard Kynan Forney (neck) to practice by midweek.

If so, it's a safe bet Forney holds onto his starting job. He's had a good camp, and Vasquez has some learning to do. But the Chargers are excited about what Louis Vasquez does well (physical run blocker and good pass blocker, even though he made some mistakes Saturday).

Defensive end Jacques Cesaire (neck) is also supposed to practice by Wednesday or Thursday.

Camp is ending a day early, so that the Chargers can work a little bit on a limited gameplan for Atlanta without the prying eyes of CFL scouts or media. Atlanta will have another good, quick defense for the Chargers to be tested against.

LaDainian Tomlinson, who has carried 12 times in two games, almost doubling his career preseason rush total, said he feels great physically. He noted in watching film that he has been a little impatient on some runs and could have gotten some more yards. Getting his timing down is probably the biggest benefit take out of working this preseason.
