I've noticed that once someone posts a picture that is wider than the forum default width for a post, then all posts on that page become the same width as that post with the picture in question.

What browser are you using? This varies by browser, but generaly it doesn't make all the posts wider, but it does create a problem. When a overly wide picture is posted it created a horizaontal scrolling situation which can make it difficult to view the thread in some browsers. Also remember that not everyone has the same screen resolution or same sized monitor, so this will be worse at lower resolutions.

The only real solution is to resize picture before they are posted so that they are not overly wide. This will also allow people to see the picture better without having to scroll across the picture while only seeing part of it at a time.

It happens regardless of whether using FireFox 1.5+ or IE 6.1. I'm not using IE 7.

The BoltCheer Thread is a prime example.

One post will have a picture that is 400 pixels wide. The next post will have one that is 1280 pixels wide. Since 1280 pixels is the width of the widest post, and that's larger than the default width for a post, ALL posts on that page are about 1280 pixels wide.

However, if you then go to the next page on the thread, then all the posts on that next page will be the width of the widest post on that page.
