#Chargers QB coach Frank Reich has signed a deal to become their offensive coordinator, per source. No surprise. Takes over for Whisenhunt

I'm glad to see that Reich has decided to stay onboard with the Bolts. Here's to hoping he can keep the Chargers offense rolling next year!

I like it as well. Now, who becomes the QB? Would love to add another wrinkle to the offense with another creative mind.

Are we getting a new QB also? Are we trading Rivers? :)

I think he meant to say "QB coach"

    **EDIT**

    Edited for notice of sarcasm.

    I hope not.

I want McCoy focusing on the team as a whole, and let Reich call the plays. Reich has been waiting for this day, I doubt McCoy takes his one time shot from him.

I like the choice as well. Let's keep some continuity around here, things seem to working.

Now as to QB coach, well.......CBJ may be looking for a gig next year.....

Good news, Rivers just got the reins let loose a bit. Least I hope so.

The way Adam Schefter put it, Whiz wanted to take Reich with him but Chargers had final say on that.

No other OC candidates interviewed? TT/MM must be really high on him, or really high.

Don't understand why you would want to break up a top 5 offense. You bring in someone else, and they have a different game plan and scheme for our offense. That's is the way their going to run it. Reich knows the system, has his hands on the offense all season and has a wrinkle of his own in the playbook.

Getting a durable legit deep threat would open things up big time. Mr. Reich played under coach Leavy (SP) and Jim Kelly, ain't no telling what he can visualize.

Wow, I didn't know Reich played for Bobby Ross in college. This guy has been around some incredible people during his career.

I don't think anybody's advocating breaking up the offense (which at 24.8 points per game is #12). Your points in favor of Reich are well made and, since he got the job, he was obviously the best candidate in the eyes of TT/MM. However, since this is his first OC gig, his capabilities are as of yet untested. If the Boltz brain trust has gambled correctly, they are justifiably high on him. If incorrectly, history will show they were just high.
