...is a Freakin' Beast. This guy needs to make this team.

"Not to say it's easy, but it's come to me very naturally. I told coach Tomlin the other day that it's kind of like Pop Warner -- you see that guy, go hit him and get him out of the play. That's the job of the fullback.''

I'd rather have a younger version......... Manu is not the player he once was. There's a reason we let him go.

Manu's best year was when he was 11 in 1991...He won the nfl punt, pass, kick competion.
He's pretty much dropped off since then...

Because you can never have too many 300 lb guys to help the run and I didn't even know we picked this tank of a human up.

Actually, has wasn't..... Summers was signed on Feb. 16, 2011 as a free agent. He was on the Steelers practice squad, not ours.

I thought this was posted by mistake as I don't recall the Bolt's having a coach Tomlin?

He was referring to his time with the Steelers last season.

Summers actually did get called up to the PS by the Steelers for a few games; I remember distinctly seeing him in at least 2. The guy is a straight up battering ram in short-yardage and goal-line situations. Not that we don't have Tolbert already, but imagine one plowing the way for the other.

I know Hester is like AJ's little pet chihuahua, but he's going to need to step up big time this year to - rightfully - maintain his position on the DC.

At today's training camp, Summers was FLATTENING our #1 defensive starters, knocking many of them on their a$$es. Dude runs with force. Kinda like Tolbert.

Then why did they sign him way back in February?...... doesn't sound like camp fodder to me. The guy looks legit.

Doesn't look like fodder out there. Dude has skills and size. Hester should be scared.

That was my thought as well........ as much as AJ gave up for Hester, he's too much of a tweener to be a dominant blocker. If we had a guy as big as Tolbert leading him, defenses would be battered and bruised. We haven't had a really good lead blocker since LoNeal.

Well, I hope he ends up kicking *** cause then it's better for the Chargers. If he turned into the second coming of Lorenzo Neal I would be happy. We'll see.

So far, the word on him in practice has been all positive....... we may've found a diamond in the rough.

You're right, they couldn't possibly release him if they signed him in Febuary. I'm not gonna jump on the guys bandwagon just beacuase he lays out a few people in training camp. If he's still here flattening opposing teams in November, then I'll climb aboard. Looking at it objectively, the guy hasn't done **** in the NFL since he got drafted in 2009. So I'm just not sold on the guy yet.

That's a little different then saying he's "camp fodder" though...... isn't it? You judged him without him even getting a chance to show what he can do. I think he's got potential, we'll soon see how he pans out.

Fair enough. I hope he makes the team and knocks out opposing team linebackers for years to come.

I'd like to se a bit more "physical" from this offense as well..... nothing's better than seeing out offense impose their will on the opposition.
