    Kevin Acee just tweeted

"Chargers are taking/making phone calls re: veteran nose tackles, guards and cornerbacks. Looking for depth at those spots"

who are some players that are still available at those positions that would be a good fit for us?

I know Tommie Harris said he wants to continue his NFL career this season just needs to finish handling his business with the tragedy that happened with his wife

I think NT is an interesting one that they would looking at:tdown:

The 2 guys I want at Running back would be Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown, both could be 1 yr rentals, cheap, and provide veteran depth

I'm betting we sign Ryon Grant. A lot of smoke around those rumours.

I wouldn't mind this. Been saying to my friends for a while now that I like Justin Forsett as a change of pace back, also wouldn't mind Tim Hightower.

Hightower is a local product so I lean that way. Tough, hard runner - sort of a poor man's Stephen Jackson.

If his ACL will be ready for the start of the season I say hell yes, I'm a big fan of Hightower.

    In 2011

Player A: Rushed 84 for 321 yrds averaging 3.8 YPC with 1 TD
    receiving 10 rec. 78 yrds 1 TD

Player B: Rushed 87 for 361 yrds averaging 4.1 YPC with 1 TD
    Receiving 14 rec. 98 yrds 0 TD

    Player A is Tim Hightower,
    player B is Cadillac Williams

The stat line is very similar and I feel we can get Williams for next to nothing compared to Hightower

I honestly am happy with keeping the RB group we have, I might be the only guy who thinks Brinkley can be a good back up RB

Im happy with him as a runner but, Im not sure how well he can pass protect and pick up a blitz.

Honestly if he can do that then I see no point in picking up another.

    I'm not..

Mathews was hurt due to his playing styling. He also didn't come into camp in shape, and had basically a month to prepare for the season. He is a physical runner, and he needs to learn its okay to step out of bounds. I love the aggressiveness in my favorite RB in the league but that's how he gets knicked up all the time.

Who's behind Mathews? This league has turned into a two-back system. I would love Ricky Williams, hometown kid, served as a great back up to Ray Rice in Baltimore, cleaned up and isn't a off the field issue any more. Wouldn't mind Ryan Grant either, if he can stay healthy.
