SAN DIEGO ---- This time, the Kansas City Chiefs will get the Chargers' best shot. Or will they? In the Chiefs' last visit here, they got the Chargers' "B" team. With the Chargers' playoff berth secured and not wanting to risk injury, the likes of Doug Flutie, Philip Rivers and Ryan Krause led the Chargers past the Chiefs, 24-17, in the 2004 regular season finale.

Talk about a sour taste ---- if your palate resides in Kansas City.

"Whenever you go out and lose to a second-string team, that doesn't say a lot about your team," Chiefs cornerback Eric Warfield said. "I think that was a lot about us knowing our situation, being we weren't going to make the playoffs and San Diego had won the division. To lose like we did, to their second string, that's not a good way to finish your season."

The Chiefs were finished as well, being mathematically eliminated before that game. So really, neither team had anything to play for in a glorified exhibition game.</blockquote>
