I know Chambers hasn't been a Charger for more than 1/2 of a season, but I want everyone's new opinion (or same, possibly). Some of us touted him as being the best thing we could have done (myself included), and others cursed the move like another David Boston disaster.

    Seriously... whatup now? :icon_banana:

The guy can take a hit and hold onto the ball... You can tell he is a Pro everytime he catches the ball, immediatly secures it, drags feet etc.. I am stoked to have him... I think the offense right now is focusing on run, because of Rivers sophmore jitters, and well, we have arguably the best running back of all time... If Chambers were on a more pass productive offense, ala Pats, or Colts, he'd be lighting it up more often. For now, he makes clutch catches, and is a great decoy... No way a 2nd round pick is gonna immediately do that for us...

Chambers is tha shiznit. With our best receiver on IR, we had to do something. I couldn't be happier with the tools he brings.

It's nice to have someone that is reliable if Gates isn't 100%, like he wasn't yesterday. Shoot even VJ is playing better.

That's why the Chambers acquisition was so great - not only because we got a top-flight WR, but because our former decent #1 became a terrific #2. And when you have Buster learning the ropes at #3, and Antonio at tight end... well, our once tenuous WR corps is tenuous no more.

Has Chambers dropped a pass since coming to the Bolts? I wonder what Football Outsiders will have to say about Chambers now. The guy is just a stud. He consistently gets open and catches everything thrown his way, even when he's not open. Rivers is getting more comfortable with Chambers.

I think the best is yet to come as far as Chambers is concerned, and he's already bene impressive, as he has most of his career.

Chambers is a stud. We've now got a bonafide #1 receiver. 'nuff said on him...

He's probably not as excited as those dorks who used to be his teammates. Seriously, that was pathetic display of joy in Miami yesterday. Was Cam more happy to win a game, or more relieved because he would have been facing a very real possibility of getting ****-canned after only 1 season? Because you just know big dumb Don Shula would have stuck his chin in there and advised Huizenga to get rid of him.

I used to always have Chambers on my fantasy teams. The dood is a great WR. The problem has been he's had nobody to throw him the ball the last few seasons in Miami. He is starting to build trust with Rivers and will be even better over time here in San Diego.

I had never seen the dude or really had any feel for his game.

After watching the brother perform, hands down he is my numba one boy at WR. Chambers is nails.

I put him right there with Wes Chandler and that says a **** load.

No kidding! After the career he's had to endure in Miami Chambers probably appreciates this as much as anybody in the locker room. :bolt:

BTW How many years are left on his contract?

Ant was the only person I remember badmouthing the move, and he is conspicuously absent from this thread as well.

    Ant, come eat your crow.

The guy was working it yesterday. He had some seriously tough catches. Athletic, great hands. Hard to say about the route running with standard TV coverage. I guess only the boys who went to the game would know about that.

But one thing is for certain he has been clutch and has caught or in some cases made it look like he caught just about everything thrown to him. And indeed he does get VJ back into a position I think he is more comfortable with and made him better.

Come on Buster, cure that hangnail and start stretching that D.

I said yesterday in the Game Day thread that he was worth every bit of the draft choice we spent on him. This is a guy we should lock up with an extension as soon as the season is over. Without a full compliment of draft choices and lots of cap room, we can do Chambers, Turner and Sanders-in the unlikely event he becomes an FA. Chambers, VJ, Davis, Parker and Gates will give us the best overall corps of receivers the Chargers have ever had at one time. We'll have more depth than in the days of Chandler, Joiner and Winslow, considering that Naanee and Chandler are also in the mix.

I loved it when we traded for him, i love it even more now

The guy is a stud and is the best WR we have had here in maybe 20 years
