The Greatest Game series is on right now on NFL Network 12:30 and they are featuring the 1981 playoff game between the Chargers and Dolphins.

    Man what a game!:bolt:

I was 14 years old and that game made me a bolt fan for life.:abq2:

Thanks man, I'll try to catch it. I feel it is THE best game I've ever seen. Plenty of drama and just guts and heart showed from both the Bolts and Fins. Now THAT is why the NFL is the greatest game ever. I just wish that game was for the AFC Championship.....:icon_sad:

...If only the Bolt team of that era had the defense it has now. I remember the Chargers almost blew a 24 point lead in that game but came back to erase a touchdown deficit. Mr. Winslow will always hold a very special place in my heart for what he left on the field that day

I hear ya Grid. I just watched that game on NFL Network HD (Channel 772 on Cox in SD) Man, that was unbelievable and I watched it live when I was a kid. Winslow was all over the place. Fouts was dealin left and right to Chandler, Joiner and Winslow. (Rivers to LT, Gates, Chambers, VJ......) Both sides just gave it everything they got in the humid Miami heat. It was a game of the ages that brought a tear to my eye. I kept thinking there were SO many times the Chargers could have won the big one. We were so close, yet so far. Winning it all this season would heal SO many wounds from the past. The Holy Roller, the loss to the Niners, the loss to the Jets, the loss to the Cheats in 2006, etc. Having LT and the boys holding up the Lombardi would mean the Cherry on the cake of my life. I know this sounds corny, but I told my son there's only ONE thing I want left in life for me and that's to see the Chargers win the Super Bowl. I will die a happy man after and everything else is gravy. Sorry to get carried away. Let's just get this done once and for all!

I downloaded both versions of this thing on the torrent sites.

Both the 90 minute "Greatest Game" version and the full four hour broadcast.

I have no respect for Shula or the Fish since that game in 81. Shula had the balls to say the best team is staying home and never gave the Chargers credit for the win. Old Don, on the other hand was amazed at what he'd just witnessed on the the field. Screw the Fishsticks and Shula.

    God forgive me.

I was 23, and that was THE single most thrilling, edge-of-your-seat, breath-taking, stroke-inducing football game I've ever seen. Our family will still be talking about that game when we're 90 and drooling in our laps. In-freakin-credible. Thanks for the memories!

How about that bitter turd Bob Kuechenberg basically calling Kellen Winslow was a p*ssy for having to be helped off the field. I have seen him a couple of times on shows dealing with that game basically saying "I never had to be carried off the field." Maybe that's because you never gave such an epic performance that you left it ALL on the field.

Screw you Kuechenberg, you bitter loser.

...How would a dumb-phuck like Koochieburger know anything about how hard it is to walk when every muscle in both legs is cramping from a loss of fluids on a hot, muggy, night like that :icon_evil: I guess he's still bitter about LOSING one of the GREATEST games ever played. No one outside of that stupid organization would come up with something that idiotic.
I kinda wish they had gone 0-16 last year...Now
