Is it that easy to be a GM? Damn, I'm wasting my talents...;)

I didn't like a lot of what AJ did, but I think he was spot on when implying that an appearance on Hard Knocks gives your opponents an upper hand.

Bad idea, the Bolts don't need the distractions.

True, but that doesn't make everything he did incorrect. The guy would be an excellent asst GM.
When I stop wasting my talents here and go full-time in the NFL, I'm gonna hire him and you and put you 2 in the same office space;)

I've yet to hear any team that's done it say it was bad idea, so I think these distractions are a bit overblown.

It's not like a TV camera on the sideline is going to make a player run slower for the sake of looking cool on camera, if anything he's going to practice harder so he doesn't get embarrassed.

I don't see how that's doable...... there's only so much curmudgeon cap in the budget.

It'd be a boring season of Hard Knocks... "There goes Philip Rivers in his minivan to go pick up his kids from school..."

Well, now that you explain it only being one dude with a video camera makes it different. I was thinking a whole HBO production crew running about roughshod throughout the place setting up tearing down and moving from location to location. One guy, one camera, no problem.

I don't think it's just one dude, it's probably 2 or 3 walking around the field with a camera and sound equipment. All the story narration and editing done later on. Point is it's a documentary style tv show, not a Peter Jackson movie.

I vote put'em on Deano, we got nothing to lose.

Better the Chargers on Hard Knocks than Cincinnati, again.

I watched my first ever full episode of Hard Knocks last night, this season's episode 1 with the Bengals. I found it very interesting bordering on entertaining. But after it I felt like... hmmmmm are these guys truly getting ready for the NFL season where they are expected to make some noise. I didn't get the feeling the coaches especially Hue Jackson acted as if the cameras were not there. Yes I know that is v difficult to do but Jackson was like the performing seal. Having the good ol Oklahoma drill brought me back to the dire days of Marty. I don't see the value in that other than for TV and maybe sideline gambling among the players!.

I can't see the Chargers going for it on the football side. McCoy and TT appear to be v serious about their roles and would see the TV as a complete distraction. Especially McCoy... it's clear he wants to tell all outside of Chargers Park nothing other than the banal 'we're working hard each day to get better, we want players who will help us win blah blah blah'. I can't see him for a minute being able to say/do what he wants with his players and coaches with cameras present.

    I say no thanks.
