For him. Depending on how its structured he'll be the 2nd highest paid center in football. Too much IMO for a guy who is already pondering retirement.

Correction: Faine was released, which means Hardwick will be the highest paid center in the NFL

Well we didn't really have much of a choice so I'm not pissed or anything, but AJ did overpay.

It isn't like he is making $10 mil. He is worth keeping, even if making a few extra dollars, it is worth it.

By the way, where are the #'s? I can't find anything that shows the dollar amount

That was my point...... we let good players go because we "can't afford them", then we overpay to keep an old center. Is that a good business decision?

Old Center? He is 30 years old and we have no better replacement on the roster

He'll be 31 when the season starts. Old, yeah....... he's got a lot of miles on his body and he considered retiring this year. Does that sound like a young guy to you?

AJ seems to have his favorites that he may pay more for. He likes those grunts on the line.

Hopefully Colin Baxter blooms and he'll be able to be a starter by Hardwick's second year in this deal..

    he's averaging $4.5M a year, i thought he should of gotten $3M a year..

He considered retirement because he had the **** scared out of him when his best friend had a concussion that lead to a seizure. That passed.

Yes he will be 31, which is still totally fine, especially since it is only a 3 year deal.

I don't have a problem with re-signing Hardwick, since we didn't have a better option. That doesn't change the fact that he's getting old, and is a bit undersized...... especially against 3-4 NT's.

What I don't get is why we haven't locked up Gaither........ LT is a must position to have a stud, and McNeill is already gone.

Gaither proved in the past when he held out with Baltimore that he's a money motivated player. I'm not surprised he's fielding all the offers he can.

Agreed. Apparently teh Chargers have told McNeil that they want him back, just at a lesser price, but McNeil wants to test the market

I would also, doesn't mean he is only looking for the highest bidder. Dielman tested the market also, and still came back for a little less
