Alright Bolt Fans! We got a big win this week with most every part of our game clicking and a rowdy crowd giving our boys some much needed support. The margaritas at the tailgate were great, the carne aside was excellent, and the Rack O' Lambs at the game were well done. The team regrouped well this week and kept together as a tight unit when they really needed it. After the dark clouds of last week, the sun is shining again in San Diego. Lets get down to X's and O's of this game:

Heroes (X's):

Ladainian "StepLoser" Tomlinson – Loved the quote from LT where he stated if this is the kinda day he can have while losing a step he would hate to have seen himself in his prime! 183 yards on 25 caries for a 7.3 avg and 2 TD's on the ground. Wow! If that isn't putting that dog to sleep, I don't know what is. 3 catches for 57 and a TD as well. Recovered an onside kick? Dang! Surprised he didn't give massages to players, operate the scoreboard, and dance with the Cheerleaders (Gotta love those costumes!) while he was at it. Hands down there is not better football player on the planet. End of story!
Marlon "The President" McCree – While the secondary mat have given up some decent yards today, the bulk of them came when the game was already decided. And man, McCree who was brought in to make plays made a big game changer when he returned that fumble for a TD. Just the kind of pickup we needed from the defense. It took the air out of the Rams and put the Chargers on the fast track.
The O-Line – The best game they have played all year. They were pass blocking fantastically, allowing only 1 sack and that was on an major overload blitz. The run blocking was where the big improvement came though. They were pushing the Rams off the line and driving their blocks all the way opening major holes for LT. Burner banged one in as well. When LT has 183 yards rushing on only 25 carries, you know the big boys up front earned their steaks that night.
Shawne Merriman – The guy was pissed off. He played with speed and purpose this game. 3 sacks which ties him for the league lead and 5 tackles as well as a number of pressures. Just being on the field made the other guys on the defense better as the Rams tried (and failed) to key on Merriman. We'll now get to see how the D can hold up without him as it looks like he is waiving his appeal and will start serving his suspension immediately so he will be back for the Buffalo and Denver game.
Philip Rivers – Great game management this week. He operated the offense smoothly. He made all of the right reads, threw the ball away when he had nothing open, and even made a play with his feet again. His passing has been amazing this year. His accuracy has been spot on. But most importantly, his leadership has been fantastic and you can see that his offense believes this is the guy to take them to the promised land.
Marty Schottenheimer & John "Jack" Henry – The coaches deserve to be recognized this week. These two guys pushed the O-Line this week and got them ready to fight. After the "Finesse" comments from last week, you could see that Jack and the O-line took offense at that and they played a much more smash mouth game. Marty kept the train on the tracks with all of the off the field issues and helped shore up the bad tackling from last week.
Antonio Cromartie – The rookie was matched up with Pro-Bowler Tory Holt almost the whole game and he basically shut him down. He was in place to make 2 interceptions which Tory forced out of his hands like the savvy vet he is but AC had position on him almost the whole game. A great test for the kid and he passed with aces.
The Charger Girls – I love Halloween! And I especially love Charger games near Halloween where are Charger Girls get dressed up and become the "Spooky" Charger Girls. I'm sorry but if your spooked by what was displayed on the field by those girls, you got issues. My favorites of course are Stacie as the Leopard, The Queen of Hearts, The extremely tiny LT outfit, and the Pirate Girl.
The Colts – Got to give these guys some props for taking Denver down in a morale busting way and hanging a solid 34 points on that stingy defense. Another couple of weeks and it's our turn to smash them in the mouth.
Zeros (O's):

Garbage Time – Maybe it's just me, but I hate giving up points and big yardage in garbage time. I might be a little of a stat junky but I hate to see my D hold up well all game only to be switched into a dime prevent towards the end of the game that gives up a bunch of yards but eats up time.
Eric Parker – He actually had a pretty good game but he has got to get in the Zero's column once for that amazingly bad dropped pass in the middle of the field with 5 yards separation and the ball hitting him in the numbers. I think everyone in the crowd groaned when that ball dropped to the ground. We love you "Spiderman" but you got to get razzed for that one my friend.
The Steelers – Good idea starting a guy with a recovering grade 2 concussion. He looked like a QB starting with a grade 2 concussion. Cowher, it's time to balls up and IR the big guy before he is completely broken this season. You're basically out of the playoff hunt and Big Ben could use a year to recover and come back next year healthy. You keep putting him out there like that you may break him physically and emotionally for life.
The Kickoff Return Game – I love Michael Turner but I think its time we give the kid a shot at returning kicks for a whole game. We are lacking in fire on returns and having a big play guy like AC back there may give us exactly what we need.
5-2. Tied for first in the AFC West. I know we are technically in second, but tie breakers don't matter until after game 16 so at this point we are tied. The Chargers are coming off a big win and now they have what appears to be a patsy team coming in. The Chargers cannot play down to this team. They need to bury them early and often. No letdowns, no Martyball, just pound them. I want to see a steady helping of "TNT", some major passing by "Old Man" Rivers, and some smash mouth D with Marques Harris and Carlos Polk taking up the slack for "Lights Out" and "The Strike". Lets give our boys a rowdy welcome and make sure the Browns know they aren't in Cleveland anymore. Lets Go Bolts!
