Hey AJ, will Rivers become someone else's pick thrower then?

This organization is a joke. I have said it all along, this is ALL all Spanos. Now he's going to get the ultimate kick in the nuts, an empty stadium. Hope his pockets REALLY feel this one, he deserves it.

Fire Norv today, Put Pags in control for interim, bench Phil and watch the fans show up and a whole new spark. This team has flat lined, plain n' simple.

All the fans can't be wrong...time for a new HC and GM! This will be my first season where I don't attend a game at the 'Q' as it's hard to watch all our talent not be used effectively on game day.

Pags hasn't been that impressive either. It's his defense that has rolled over the 2nd half the last 2 games.

Maybe if the O wasn't going 3 and out so often, the D would do better?

bullschitt. Look at the field position our O is handing the opposing teams O. We have 2 of the worst starting CB's in football yet held Peyton scoreless in the first half. Take away all of Phills turnovers (and pick/fumbles for 6) and the D would have done just fine.

Yeah 909, the Chargers D was excellent in both 2nd halves. They weren't getting toasted by Brees and Manning at all.
Let's just cut to 'everything is Rivers' fault' and we'll be good.

Never said excellent, but givin' who we were up against, I think they held their own to say the least. Brees and Manning are future HOFers, you can't just STOP scoring in the second half..jesus.

The O went 3 and out once last night in the 2nd half.

No ****, but to suggest that giving up 21 pts (last night) and 17 the week before in the 2nd half is 'holding their own' and all on the QB?
    That's just ******* insane.

My choice would be Rich Bisaccia. Pags has all he can handle right now in fixing the D, esp the backfield.

Even looking at the Falcon game, take away phil's bone head INT at the end of the first half and our D would have kept them under 21pts. This teams problem is the offense, not D. 1 TD total in the 2nd half in each of our 3 losses.

Chargers lost this game because Clary was on the field and our receiving personnel don't match our passing scheme, which is heavily reliant on longer-developing routes.

Even IF we gave up 21 last night in the second half..We'd still win...and that's WITH the horrible field postition our D was backed into..

It was only 14 last week bc 3 of those were off of Phillips pick, again. And if you think Brees grabbing 14 in the second half of a game is abnormal you have another thing coming.

    hahahhahahahahah you crazy
Opening drive TD had nothing to do with our offense. 24-7
    Then D can't stop Manning from Den 46 24-21
    Then D can't stop Manning from 50 28-24

but but but our D can't be expected to compete against Brees and Manning.

D needs to improve. Plain and simple.

lol, right. Clary. How about if Rivers just tucked the ball away once in a while? Punting and relying on our D would have worked a little bit better than immediate TD's for the other team. Not only does it hit the scoreboard, but it totally changes the momentum of the game.

The 1 TD in the 2nd half was in regards to OUR O if you didn't catch that..

Fair enough didn't catch that. Our O obviously sucks in 2nd half. At least we can agree on that.

D still has to step up. Manning and Brees were going through them like butter. A sheetload of 1st and 2nd down short passes for first downs.
Look, I'm not saying Rivers is anything close to blameless. Hell he's gotta stop the bonehead throws. In general the guy gets too amped up for big games. The OL sucks beyond belief. And the D isn't helping. Systemic ******** of the bed.
Still think they can pull it together and make the playoffs. Call me crazy, but they have an easy schedule. Whether they go anywhere in the playoffs depends on D and Rivers improving. And Gaither coming back.

It's absolutely absurd that you watched that game and put all of those picks on Rivers.

Absolutely. There is such thing as take a sack. When you are up by fuking 2+ TD's, you TAKE the sack and punt the ball. If he doesn't throw 4 picks (and even IF they all resulted in punting the ball), tucks the 2 fumbles, we win; EVEN without scoring in the second half.

The dude was playing like he was down by 2 TD's, not up. Careless.

I guess the Broncos second half march it down your throat was River's fault too. Bolt's first drive went to the Donks 35, River's throw a perfect ball to a wide open Rosario who never even turns around to find the ball. River's gets sacked and fumbles from the heavy pressure and Donks return it for the TD. Yeah your right, it's all River's fault.

As ticked off as I am over this epic collapse, I’m not yet ready to cut bait with either Norv or Philip. (I think AJ has already done enough to warrant being retained, a lot of his recent draft picks & FA acquisitions are performing real well) The final results of this season will determine whether or not Norv survives, and if Rivers has another whole season like the last one in which he single-handedly costs us several games (we’re at 1 & counting this year) then we may need to at least look at bringing in a talented QB to back him up, and perhaps even play a bit if Philip continues to play like a confused rookie and turn the ball over at this alarming rate, and needs to be benched. It’s definitely not all his fault, but Philip shoulders a great deal of the blame because of his sustained poor performance, and horrible decisions at times.

    *Charger fan logic*

Philip Rivers fumbles the ball and watches it ran back for a momentum changing TD

Philip Rivers throws a pick-6 trying to take the lead back that was lost as a result of that momentum change

Philip Rivers fumbles again when trying for last minute magic to come back from a 2 score game, that became a two score game thanks to his pick-6

    Charger fans: FIRE NORV!!!!

Rivers isn't responsible for Norv calling plays with 7 step drops and max protects which then fail because Clary, even with help, is complete garbage. Other QBs move up in the pocket or scramble when they sense pressure from behind, well, Rivers has no pocket to move up into and can't scramble.

Fire Norv for being a moron and calling idiotic plays and get a decent o-line.

I counted THREE huge mistakes by our quarterback up there, two of which directly led to touchdowns for the other team, and you still try to spin it as mostly Norval's fault. :roflmao:

Rivers made mistakes but the ball shouldn't have been in his hands. 23 passes and 11 runs were called in the 2nd half. Norv is arrogant in his play calling and not conservative with a lead. As someone else posted, 5 punts and a field goal would have won us the game. Norv can't protect a lead, can't adjust on the fly, wants complete control so we never run a no huddle to prevent defensive subs. We should have fired him in the off season but we are not going to now. Players play but when they give you the leads he had the last two weeks and you take the ball away from the tailback and then go on to lose the blame should fall on the HC for even setting up the situation for Rivers to make bad decisions deep or to tight man on man sideline routes. It was obvious he wasn't sharp from the outset yet you continue to call slow developing pass plays with high incompletion % chances? The only passes Rivers should have made in the 2nd half should have been screens, quick slants, and check down dumps to TEs and backs. Should have been more like 20-25 runs, 8-10 passes. Norv wanted to put his signature on the game on Natl. TV to embarass the donks and now the Chargers look like the biggest joke in the league.
